the curse of Kim Dokja: 2

Okay so in this update I'll talk about from 9 to 19.  I love how Kim Dokja goes through the first few scenarios: he's curious, confident and slightly pessimistic of the people around him.

Also, we finally meet the protagonist, Yoo Joonghyuk. Man, yall don't know how much I love him. He's indeed a cocky bastard at first but... I swear I love him anyway.
Red is my favourite color and I chase red flags like my life depends on it.

For now the level of foreshadowing is pretty low but that's exactly the trap, because Secretive Plotter is already chewing on sweet potatoes as he begins to look at kdj through the first few scenarios. Although, I think it's crazy kdj already knew how to begin settling his prominent position over the incarnations and it's shown when he signs the contract with Bihyung: the end of their contract is in fact when incarnation kdj dies, so in chap.188. This means a lot because in that short time he did manage to rise Bihyung into a greater dokkaebi as a start of his road to success, while kdj was able to become a constellation by that time and be fully independent.

Lee Gilyoung is also a character I hold dear but it's sad how kdj never really cared for him much. I realise now how much he preferred characters over people.
Even Jung Heewon, who was a character that was never mentioned in twasa, the moment he finds our she's a character of the novel he's glad.

This just only points put how kdj lacks of socialisation and how much he suffers from it. Since he has this anxiety that if he doesn't fully know someone, he'd rather not deal with them. And by a certain logic, anyone would rather engage with someone they already know. But kdj used lgy and even if he made him part of his team, he did it reluctantly, out of pity.
While jhw was welcomed with open arms in a really short time. Yes, age does matter as part of his considerations but... that neglect doesn't go only for him and soon they'll show it.

So yeah, kdj probably has anxiety and prefer to join up with people he fully knows rather than try to engage with others and another reason has to be liability: character is guaranteed to survive ("except" for yjh) while a friend like yoo sangah might die sooner than the end of the scenarios. It's risky and counterproductive for his premeditated plans and for the morale of the team on the long run, expecially considering how mentally fragile is yjh. But even God knows kdj is just as fragile if it wasn’t for the help of 4th wall.

Also the third scenario is a great way to introduce us to the world building, showing us how deeply roots fear in front of apocalyptic scenarios. And then we see kdj's contempt for irrationality and humans at their worst. In the end Cheon Inho is a great antagonist to him because he exactly pokes where he lacks the most: communication.

Rereading orv might have been the best decision I've ever made.
