Umibe no onnanoko / The girl on the shore by Inio Asano

So recently read the manga and it ended so abruptly that it made it stick with me in my head and i'd catch myself thinking about it randomly. If anyone has any comments on it i'd love to hear it cuz i dont have anyone to talk about it too.

At first, it was a bit strange how intimite Isobe and Koume were for being midde school students but it wasn't too hard to get used to because i realise how close in age i am  to these characters and i look around at people i know and how they've also already experienced stuff like that which actually feels so messed up to me that this how normalised it is and its not like its only a specific country cuz I don't even live in japan or anything.

Their relationship also seems so realistic because in real life you hear about people getting into shallow relationships

I read on post on the internet how there's alos a theme of "being too late" which was actually quite interestinmg to me. Like Isobe clings onto his brother and ends up attacking Misaki's group and the guys that made his brother commit but once he heals and wants to actually live healthily for the police pullk up on him and thats the last time we see him so its kinda like "Its too late to be better" and i imagine he'd get pulled back into that gloom. Theres also how Koume ends up liking Isobe but Isobe stopped liking her after all the stuff she put him through. I think she liked doing bad stuff Isobe cuz to her he was a sorta "rebound" that she used to make herself to feel better which Isobe didn't mind at the time but obviously he would end up leaving, I don't really know if Koume actually loved Isobe because to me it felt like she just loved using him but there's that thing where in high school she ends up adopting his likes in anime, manga and games smillarly the way Isobe did with his brother. She also ends up dating a guy that looks kinda similar to Isobe. Oh, and when she starts getting jealous over that girl on the camera. Maybe she gets sad that he's happy because it means that he gets to be happy without her and that he knows that she'll just be worse for him so now Koume is really just alone.

I think something that sorta resonated with me is how in the first chapter Isobe said how didn't care is Koume didn't like her anymore and was fine with being used.

Let me know what you guys think.
