Ranking the texas chainsaw massacre movies!

What's good everybody, tonight I'll be ranking the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' franchise from my least favorite to my most favorite. This is strictly just my personal ranking so hopefully nobody gets too mad at this, but anyway I hope everybody is doing well and I hope you have a great day today and let's not waste any more time and let's get on with today's blog!Note: I will be talking about some spoilers.✩̣̣̣̣̣ͯ┄•͙✧⃝•͙┄✩ͯ•͙͙✧⃝•͙͙✩ͯ┄•͙✧⃝•͙┄✩̣̣̣̣̣ͯ✩̣̣̣̣̣ͯ┄•͙✧⃝•͙┄✩ͯ•͙͙✧⃝•͙͙✩ͯ┄•͙✧⃝•͙┄✩̣̣̣̣̣ͯ|   |   |   | ||   |   |   |   ||   |   |   |    |/       👁       \/                       \/                           \/                               \\                               /\                           /\                       /★。/          |          \。★★。/          |          \。★#8.) TCM: The Next GenerationA decent cast, a solid slasher plot, a decent director, and one of the people who worked with Tobe Hooper on the original was involved with this film. So what went wrong? Well, first the movie turned Leatherface into a drag queen for.....reasons? The cast, while talented, didn't seem like they really wanted to be in the movie (and Mathew McConaughey requested that this movie got taken off his film record), and the whole film was a mess. Almost none of the kills were memorable, some of the characters were over the top (and not in a good way) and like I said before, they turned Leatherface into a drag queen for some unknown reason.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*#7.) Leatherface: TCM 3This film lacks the clarity and identity that the earlier films had. The characters are mostly forgettable or just flat out bad, the kills weren't as good as the other films in the series, and some of the cinematography was weak. However, I did like the Leatherface portrayal from R.A. Mihailoff, Ken Foree was decent, and I liked some of the aesthetic shots (an example would be when Leatherface was in front of the truck with the purple lighting). There's some positives in the film but I mostly skip over this film.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*#6.) LeatherfaceAt the time of me making this blog this is the latest film in the franchise, and I'm mixed on it. On one hand, I do like the mystery aspect as we don't know who Leatherface is yet, but on the other hand by the time it's revealed the effect just wasn't as impactful as they may have wanted it to be. It's not a bad film and it's definitely not the worst, but it's a bit lacking in some aspects and I think it could've been done a little better. Still a solid flick however.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*#5.) Texas Chainsaw 3DThe first third of this movie is pretty bad due to Trey Songz being a shitty actor and having a garbage character, but as soon as he dies the movie picks up in a great way. The rest of the kills are solid, the Leatherface portrayal from Dan Yeager was fantastic, the characters felt more involved in the last two thirds of the film, and while I know a lot of people dislike the ending (I have a small issue myself), I don't think it's as bad as it could've been (thanks to the fun kill that comes afterwards). My issue is that the main character had all her friends killed by Leatherface, and then she randomly reveals that they're cousins and she has no issues with Leatherface anymore which was pretty weird but at least we got a nice kill afterwards so I'm not too mad at it.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*#4.) 2003 RemakeThis was a decent remake before the horror remake craze became overdone and stale. R. Lee Ermey had an intense showcasing as Sheriff Hoyt, Andrew Bryniarski was a fantastic Leatherface, I liked how they made Leatherface seem more terrifying thanks to the way he was portrayed, the gore was solid, the atmosphere was nice, the kills were great, the bold layout of the movie was nice, and this was a solid remake in my eyes.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*#3.) Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2A lot of people may be skeptical of this film because Tobe Hooper went into the more dark humor territory (he thought the first movie was a dark comedy despite it disturbing it's viewers) but I think it worked well. We meet Chop-Top, Leatherface's brother (played by Bill Mosely) who adds a lot of dark comedy with his line deliveries while also being deranged, sadistic, and a cannibal himself. The radio show was an interesting subplot, the atmosphere was well crafted, and overall I think Tobe Hooper did a great job with actually giving us a dark comedy film like he wanted to (and supposedly did) with the original film.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*#2.) TCM: The BeginningFor all of the great comedy we get from 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2', we get equally great horror moments with 'TCM: The Beginning'. The first thing I wanna point out is Andrew Bryniarski is possibly the scariest portrayal of Leatherface thanks to not only how big he is as a person but the mannerisms he pulls off are great as well. The way Leatherface straps Eric to the table before using a chainsaw on him and then we get to see him stich Eric's face into a mask which was one of my favorite scenes from any of the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' films. The characters were decent for what they were supposed to be and for the time frame that the film takes place, and this is easily one of the better films in the series in my personal opinion.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*#1.) Texas Chainsaw MassacreThe original film is still my favorite. The vibrant colors really pop on the big screen and the overall atmosphere is just, dirty. This movie looks disgusting, the characters are insane, the violence was pretty much unmatched at the time, and I loved every second of it. Leatherface is one of my favorite slashers of all time, the hitchhiker was disturbed yet very social to the people who picked him up before he ended up cutting Franklin's arm, the atmosphere fit the movie extremely well, and this was overall one of the best movies I've ever seen regardless of the genre. The Sawyer Family were great evil characters and one of the scariest families in the horror genre, the ending was perfect as we see Sally laughing maniacally in the back of the truck, and everything about this movie is perfect.•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`* •.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*
