edgy rant about "clean goth fashion"

i swear the clean goth fashion was made up by a bunch of people who just want to be apart of the subculture and not be considered a normie, using black as a way of trying to include themselves. it has no ties to traditional gothic fashion or anything goth at all. being goth is NOT just wearing all black, it comes from architechture - where it first came from, in the 12th century. it also stems from literature, gothic literature developing in the late 18th century, and music, first developing in the late 70s. goth isn't just simply fashion or music, it's a lifestyle, which can develop and have factors. goth is supposed to be eerie and dark, exploring elements like paranormal, dark romanticism, death, strong emotion +more. it should NOT be belittled to wearing black clothes, that is just a way of trying to fit in, when part of being goth is to not fit in or be a normie, to be a misfit. clean goth fashion has had no development, merely the stealing of a word, and regressing.
