Hi, I'm Zombabi, I'm 16 and basically an involuntary
recluse. I only really started socializing at the "end" of the pandemic
due to strict parents and general social anxieties. Currently, I have 6

Okay so I've been OBSESSED with metalocalypse and today I found out I'm GOING TO A DETHKLOK CONCERT- and Dragonforce IS OPENING?? I'm frothing at the mouth my 2000s dreams are coming true. Anywhosies, I really love concerts cuz I'm so touch-deprived that getting mildly crushed is such a thrilling experience, also tbh I just love the atmosphere and the lights and the LOUD LOUD MUSICC!!! SO excited, also I've been being more open with my friends, talking about stuff I like, and being happy without fear of rejection or bullying or whatever. It's been going great, my conversations are a lot longer and less awkward!!! Strategies.
I'm going to continue trying to be more open with people, I've started being relatively outgoing but I struggle with knowing what to talk about! Small talk is fine but I get so nervous and awkward that it never becomes big talk lol.
Goals.
Definitely going to try hanging out with friends more, spring break is over :( but I can still make weekend plans and the like yk. Also I want to talk to people at this concert! last concert I went to (MMATA) I exchanged bracelets with someone, complimented a few people and joked with some others. Gotta get out of my comfort zone yippee.

I like to open up with something slightly wild & related to the situation I'm in. If I try to talk to somebody and I see they're listening, to uhh Manic Street Preachers, I'll ask them where do they think their bassist/drummer disappeared off to. or where they got their clothes & I'll relay them a story related to it, like if they're wearing jeans I employ my infodump rizz & go "Isn't it kinda cool how symbolism becomes washed to a fashion item? Jeans used to be counterculture and now they're just a wardrobe basic-" and get them to discuss deeper shit. Idk this might not work for you but it did for me.
ooh I didn't see this comment, that sounds really cool I always love learning new things. I definitely need to work on openers that go beyond "ooh are you playing with legos! can I play too :D" lmao, so I might try that!
