coraline jumper!

Last month, I rewatched Coraline for the first time since I was little. I saw her blue starry jumper and decided to have a go at recreating it.

Since my knitting is not the strongest, I decided to work it in Tunisian crochet (a knit/crochet hybrid). I used only Tunisian knit and purl stitches through the piece. I didn't use a pattern, but it is worked in rectangles, with some shaping on the neckline and decreases in the sleeves. The reason my neckline is so different is because my original neck was too small to fit my head through! So I had to cut it down and improvise with what I had left. It's also totally the wrong shade of blue (it's very teal instead of navy) but I just used yarn I already had.

If I were to make this again, I would definitely duplicate stitch the stars instead of working them in the piece as they are quite wonky. But let's be honest, I am not going to make this again! It's very warm though, so it will get a lot of wear, especially since it's cold in Wales like 90% of the time!

Honestly, I'm pleased with my jumper! It's nice to make something useful, and I'm hoping this will be in my wardrobe for a long time. It took me around a month to make in total, I just worked on it when I had moments of free time here and there. Now I have to find a new project to occupy my free time!
