Inspiration is very hard to find

I struggle a lot with finding inspiration and other media that I like and feel connected to, there's so much content everywhere but all of it just seems like a bunch of nothing to me. It feels very quantity of quality these days, and algorithms really fucking suck. It's genuinely upsetting how I just scour youtube for hours searching for something that means anything to me, I feel like my need for inspiration will never be satisfied. If anyone has any tips of useful advice please share, I would also just want to hear from anyone who relates even if you're just as lost as me. This is a thought I haven't fully articulated so any comments are helpful.

try not to worry about it too much! i know that's easier said than done, but it has really helped me. when i have periods of zero inspiration i try to not force it and think too much about it. of course, it sucks sometimes, being an artist n all, but i've found that this helps me see inspiration in random places, in the little things! like in public, nature, books, school, etc. hand in there!

this applies to both art inspiration and story/world building inspiration, if that's what you're talking about. in fact, this has REALLY helped me with my stories/world building!

I get u tbh but honestly I don’t think inspiration has to specifically come in forms of media. U can get inspiration from the things around u and they don’t necessarily have to be anything meaningful either, just as long as it helps YOU get ideas. YouTube algorithms have sucked quite a bit lately, the search function doesn’t even work properly anymore but nowadays I find inspo through Pinterest mainly. And if ur someone who has the time I suggest maybe going to a library or a museum or anything really, look at the real deal because when u view everything through a screen u tend to forget the effort and story behind something

I fully agree, I like getting inspo for art and stuff from Pinterest, books, museums, nature, and all sorts of things. I feel like what I'm looking for is a different type of inspiration from "art inspiration," I have a lot of concepts, thoughts, and unfinished ideas and I think I'm looking for specific bits of inspiration and information that complete those or add another piece to them at least. It feels a lot different from taking inspiration from existing art and nature when I'm painting, but thats the closest feeling I have to relate it to. Thats why I say I'm searching for something that "means something." I guess it's like because I have a specific vibe I'm going for it feels as though there is nothing to meet that, if that makes any sense. Sorry if any bit of this response is incoherent, I'm all over the place rn. Also, I like the watermelon in your username, it's good to see people with a moral backbone.

I think I sort of understand u to some extent, atleast the way I interpret is that u have the basic idea of what u want to create but because it just seems so niche it doesn’t seem anyone else has come up with what u want exactly but u can’t just start from scratch because even all original ideas are partly influenced from something but u don’t know what that something is for ur case. Actually idk if I made any sense either tbh. Coming from someone with a busy brain that never shuts up my best bet is to just write everything down with as much detail as u possibly can. When the right time comes u can add on to it and eventually commit to it

I appreciate ur comment on the watermelon, it’s not much but it’s the least I could do to show my support on what’s happening rn

You explained it pretty well actually, thats exactly what it is. I have started writing everything down as well, I began keeping "thought catalogs" and stuff. I'm definitely a bit behind on writing down my thoughts, I just stopped for a while since I was struggling to articulate my them enough on paper. And on the watermelon thing I agree also, it's important to show as much support as we can even if it seems minimal.

Ah, there was a typo. Where it says "my them" I just meant "my." Whoopsies.

I understand struggling to articulate ur thoughts, I say so much in my head but once I try to write it down on paper or even type it out on text I find it hard to find the right words and end up not writing as much as I originally intended
