Twin Fantasy (2011) by Car Seat Headrest - Album Review

just wanna preface this by saying i may be incredibly biased and that this is my first time writing an album review so !!!

this album is by far the most recognizable csh album, and for good reason. it might just be the most well rounded csh album, with raw, emotional lyrics, and the hallmark lo-fi sound of will toledos earliest projects, all inevitably culminating in what i believe is amongst the greatest albums of all time. this album, much like those that came before it, center around wills relationship with the online illustrator and cartoonist cate wurtz, leading to sincere lyrics and songwriting that you dont exactly find anywhere else, especially since this album specifically concerns the toxicity of this relationship. some may bring up the 2018 rerecord of twin fantasy, which i still love, and was my introduction to csh, but it cant hold a candle in my mind to the lo-fi emotion this album brings. tl;dr, twin fantasy is a beautiful, emotional album and if you haven't listened, you really fucken should
