Fire escape city

One time, I had a dream where I lived in this city beside a cliff, and I lived near said cliff. I remember there was a ton of fire escapes just standing there. No buildings, no houses, they just stood on the ground, kinda like big metal scaffolding, but I remember them being called fire escapes in my dream. I went down one beside the cliff and found a door leading to what looked like my basement. I went back up half way before I woke up. It freaked me out at first, but the more I thought about it, the fonder I became of it. To this day, it's my favorite dream. I called it fire escape city, because the fire escapes stood like buildings. I think it was implied at some point that there used to be something there before it was only fire escapes, and I remember seeing two people there. I don't remember that much more if it :)
