my full dream()scape album review (opinionated)

hiya !!! as i said in my last bulletin i was going to do a full review of 7dream's new album, so here we are now !!! lol 

after a few days of listening the songs on loop i can finally state that this may be the MOST innovative tracklist they had in their career. EEEVERYTHING about the alhum is such a new take for the cute, fresh and young nct dream sound, and they do it so flawlessly... i have TOO MUCH to yapp about each song so without further ado lets begin !!!!

icantfeelanything

this is the most experimental track of the album and also the one that i feel like it was TOO SHORT. it isnt labeled as an intro but i consider it to be so bc its the first track and it has this unexpected "movie trailer" or "opening track" vibes for my taste. i wish they explored more about this type of percusive sound !!! and gave it a bridge or at least a chorus ???! it just feels like the last part of SOS all over again, I WANT MORE... i'm rabid-- like actually i cant believe they just leaved it as a short intro for the album it definitely would've become such a good song if it had a structure...

honestly a 8/10 for me

BOX

OHH BOY...... BOX

when i say this threw me a whole generation back- OH GOD. this song is just reminiscent of the amazing early 3rd gen hip-hop, I CAN FVCKING HEAR EARLY BTS AND EXO ON THE VEINS OF THIS SONG-- the way they completely NAILED IT, the vibes, the way they sing, the track itself feels like a tribute to early 3rd gen hip-hop. if you tell me BOX is a unrealeased demo song for DARK&WILD i would totally believe it... i'm just so blown away by the throw back...

Carat Cake

i always thought if there was going to be a boy group that dared to imitate this y2k sound 5th gen girl groups have it HAD to be nct dream, and guess what.. THEY SLAYED. it is so fresh and fun, IT TOTALLY FITS THEM,.. i cant believe they actually just did it so good TTTT now i'm so hungry for more songs like this from them...

UNKNOWN

oh unknown... such a sweet song... i believe it represents the core concept for this album. the melody reminds me of this "hopeful" sound 3rd gen boy groups had, i just feel so at home when i listen it... i actually didnt feel this sort of nostalgic feeling in a long time, it just reminds me when i would spend like 12 hours listening to kpop at school. it feels like a caress to the little me inside my heart.

Smoothie

so the big ass elephant in the room: i did not vibe with the chorus,, at all.

contrary to most listeners i usually enjoy anti-drops i just feel like they overdone it with repeating "smoothie" twice on the second part of the chorus, and at the second repeat i was just BEGIN for it to stop. i also was waiting for a longer chorus ??? it just felt so empty after the actual chorus ended... the things saving the song for me are the amazing pre-chorus and the rest of the song, the jisung&jaemin, and last chorus are nice too bc it doesnt feel empty af... but oh god, the first two choruses are a torture to me, but i kinda overcome the pain lol

i feel like if any other group did the song i would totally have dropped it, but the members managed to save it at least.

to wrap it up, i also expected for demjointz to appear on this album again but he did not ;v;

this is simply another masterpiece, i would totally place it 4th on my top favourites albums from 7dream. im also kinda waiting on a second part ?? or even a trilogy... only SM knows.

ALSO THIS IS TOTALLY JISUNG' AND MARK' ERA: they look so good.
