In shadows deep, where secrets hide,
Lies the truth that's often denied.
Friends who smile, yet hearts betray,
Their words like daggers, led astray.
Whispers shared in sacred trust,
Now shards of lies, they crumble to dust.
Promises broken, bonds undone,
In the labyrinth of deceit they've spun.
Each laugh, each glance, a subtle guise,
Concealing the deceit that lies.
For in this game of trust, we find,
The ones we cherish can be unkind.
So tread with caution, wary soul,
For friendship's mask can take its toll.
Not all who claim to be a friend,
Will stand beside you till the end.
Yet still, amidst the doubt and fear,
True companions, rare and dear,
Shine like beacons in the night,
Guiding us through darkness, to the light.
