CHAPTER ONE: THE CONFRONTATION

SUMMARY:
Torok and Steve are in a secret relationship, and if ‘commies’ are bad I’m sure gays are too. Steve’s sparring partner Lil’ P finds out, and the couple needs to keep it under wraps.

“I’m sure you know why I’ve brought you into my office today..” Torok sat in his office, almost slamming his palms against the desk in front of him. Steve anxiously looks at the intern sitting beside him, fiddling his thumbs. He was always on edge around Torok. everyone assumed it was because of how many times he almost got fired, other than that none of his coworkers knew why.
Torok stood up from his chair, keeping his hands on the desk.
“I’ve seen you two stay after work together. If you think you can have a secret relationship behind my back, think again!”
Toroks eyes flickered between the two, before eventually landing on steve.
“And you…”
“You are cheating on me!”
Torok exclaimed, pointing his finger at Steve, offensively. Steve looked up at him, confused.
“What?”
“It’s not like we’re making out after work!”
Steve shouted back, ignoring the fact that they had just been outed to the intern
“You guys are homos?”
“That’s WILD!”
“2 DE-MERITS!”
The intern replies, breaking the angry tension.
Steve and Torok look at each other, unsure of what to do.
“I’ll give you 30 dollars if you don’t tell anyone.”
Steve bribes, breaking the short silence.
“And take back the demerits!”
“30 dollars is 30 dollars yo..”
“I’ll shut up for now.”
the intern replies, holding out their hand in request of the money. Steve places three ten dollar bills in their hand before Torok shoos them away.
the intern silently celebrates, shoving the bills in their pocket and leaving the office. Torok looks over at Steve, who was still sitting down in the desk chair thingy (think a principles office and how it has like 2 chairs in front of the desk 4 the person to talk to the other people).
“I wouldn’t cheat on you.”
“Me and lil’ P are just sparring partners.”
Steve stares back at him, trying to solve the original problem at hand. Torok doesn’t reply, he just nods to show he understood. Steve looks up at the clock on the wall, trying not to laugh. Torok had one of those cat clocks with the moving eyes hanging on his office wall. The silence in his office was loud, making Steve feel awkward.
“I’m gonna go on break.” Steve hesitated, standing up from the chair and awkwardly walking out of Torok’s office, shutting the door behind him.
