horror sans mischaracterizion

i think we as a community have to come together at some point; especially if it comes to a large mass of said community mischaracterizing a popular character. like? i see so much misapplication to horror's canon personality it kind of drives me nuts. like lowkey it feels like we're not even talking about the same character. did u even read horrortale dude.

 a gentle giant
 empathetic and forgiving
 dumbed down*
 loves food

a lot of these fanmade characteristics is a result of a FAN fanmade au in which nightmare sans recruits horror sans as one of his lackeys. horror and nightmare do NOT interact in the slightest in canon. i dont even think the multiverse exists in this au dude. it's supposed to be a result of nightmare tempting horror with food to work alongside him. which is.. a bit ooc? horror is obviously off his fucking rocker and doesn't have the most. stable friendship with his brother but he's not one to choose food over him? bc remember guys..!! he's a sans! he was a completely normal sans before the events of horrortale and that also means he cherishes his brother! he may not care about a lot of the underground but his understanding shows in the way he doesn't murder aliza in papyrus's presence.

*i've also read a LOT of interpretations of horror sans as like.. a socially inept dude who can't formulate proper sentences? not out of a disability or anything, but to match with the idea that the gentle giant is also pretty stupid. chat lets call back to the part where horror was able to devise a meticulously made plan on how to help the underground survive without the core/bring the core back before being ambushed by undyne??
