book talk: bookshops & bonedust

this is the third book talk in a row now, and i promise i'm not intentionally only coming here to blog about books. it just happens that i've been doing a lot of reading as of late.

i just finished the audiobook for bookshops & bonedust (the prequel to legends & lattes, which i'm getting to next) and i'm maybe just the teeniest little bit of an emotional wreck. it's been a slower process listening to it than reading it would be--not only because audiobooks are literally slower but because my worst habit is to read an entire book in one sitting in the middle of the night. i started listening to the audiobook on march 6th, usually in 30 minute to 1 hour increments only every few days while i worked on art projects for my classes. finally, today, i got through the last 3 hours or so all at once.

let me just say, i loved this book. i grew very attached to the characters and the town of murk, and by the end i was trying really really really hard not to cry (this is a common occurrence for me, i can't help getting emotional when i finish a good book). i don't want to just reiterate everything i already put in my goodreads review (which you can read here, if you'd like), but i do wanna say that if you're at all interested in cozy fantasy and sapphic romance, and you've been eyeing these books, this one is definitely worth a read! obviously i can't technically vouch for legends & lattes, but i'm sure i'll love it just as much.
