Weekly Game: Undertale

Of course I'd choose Undertale first >u<

The game is hella amazing, I wonder how many fans are out there?? If someone reads this, why do you like it??

In my opinion it's a mix between the very unique sense of humor and the countless secrets it has :o

Something about the characters is just so so cool u-u

Like, for example, you have just arrived Hotland, you probably have your inventory pretty full, but you see Sans selling Hot Dogs, Hot Cats, 'dogs and "apostrophe dogs", so you decide to buy from him, because they are fairly cheap too, and to rush the process you spam Z and X, and suddenly you realize this happens:

So what if you keep buying them?? It starts becoming a dumb tower of hot dogs over your head that at certain point you cannot even see the top of >u<

You have moments that look as silly as this:

Of course, you don't need to count them, thirty is the limit, it's just way too excessive and Sans knows it u.u

This isn't even the only silly moment, we have Papyrus flying over your head, a ghost sandwich phasing through the floor for eternity and you cooking with a murderous robot, the game is full of silly moments like this and that gives it so much personality >u<

And what about the secrets?? :o

Ohh, there are lots of those too X)

Toby Fox made sure that everything that could be meddled had some kind of secret hidden so you knew that he expected it already :P

For example, if you decide that 6 letters is very little (it really is >->) and decide to change your name from the files, which is easy because the data can be opened with the notepad to change it, Toby Fox prepared a message so you knew that he knows ;P

It really is easy to change u.u

We also have secrets like the FUN value and even secret bosses :o

But what's FUN value?? I cannot hear you asking but hope you have asked because I'm about to explain :P

The FUN value is a random value that is set at the start of any game and it ranges from 1 to 100, depending on what the value is, something different will happen on the Underground, sometimes it can be hard to notice because of how specific it is compared to how huge the map is :o

Here I can show you a table of the different FUN value events:

There are lots and lots of events, usually the events from 2 to 50 are the most likely and easy to find, on the other half we have more important things for the fandom :P

The most important here would be number 66, it's event is nothing so important, an additional hallway appears on Waterfall, but what happens at that hall is important, it has a 10% chance of showing a gray door, that is only a 1/1000 chance that any player will find it during a normal run :o

What lies inside is a character that is thought to be called Gaster, not much about him is known, it's believed, by talking to his followers that he was the old Royal Scientist, but he fell into his own creation; The Core, and was torn apart beyond time and space, now no one remembers him...

Those are only theories though, it is not confirmed that Mystery Man is Gaster, but the community has made lots of relations between various things and Mystery Man being Gaster is one of the most fitting and accepted theories in the fandom u-u

Now, onto a secret less charged with lore XP

For example, do you know about the secret boss that appears when you enter the art club at 8 PM on October 10th??

If you have played Undertale you must be asking, "art club??" and I say: of course, the art club, the totally-not-hidden-by-an-invisible-path art club, the one that you access right here:

(the glass tiles are invisible in-game)

So what if you go there at that time??

Well, you will have a secret boss-fight where one of the members of the art club enters rushing and accidentally attacks you by trying to make you a drawing X)

There are a lot more of things that can be talked about Undertale, like the different virtues of the human souls, how the community discovered a lot of the hidden lore and secrets and the leitmotifs hidden all throughout the soundtrack :P

However, if an Undertale fan is reading this, I'd rather if you all said what is it that you think makes Undertale so special u-u
