So I wanted to post this thing all day. This literally came up in my mind like, impulse. Last night I went to go on a lil' crate digging nostalgia trip through all of the old school hip hop stuff I used to listen to (stuff that was on my iPod). I don't know, there's something so nostalgic about that old hip hop sound. Wax Tailor, RJD2, DJ Shadow, C2C, all of those people have such a distinct sound that I love. So here's some recs for you,
So here's some recs for you,
DJ Shadow - Preemptive Strike (The Organ Donor extended mix is really sick)
DJ Shadow - The Mountain Will Fall
Wax Tailor - Tales of the Forgotten Melodies
Wax Tailor - In the Mood for Life
RJD2 - Deadringer (Full of tunes like The Horror and Ghostwriter)
RJD2 - The Horror (Alt mixes of stuff from Deadringer, The Ghostwriter remix is sick)
Sydequest - GRAFFITI SOUL (Found this one while tryna find some JSR stuff, pretty sick)
One-T - The One-T ODC (More EDM adjacent stuff. Found them through Madeon's Pop Culture [[The "Missing you" sample is from The Magic Key]])
One-T - The One-T's ABC (More One-T stuff, there's some weirder stuff on here, Kamasutra's a favorite)
William Crooks - flowers (Oldschool stuff mixed with a little newschool stuff here and there)
So there you go, here's just a bunch of hip-hop records y'all should listen to.
