album reviews

hiya!

i thought i'd yap about my favorite albums right now because i'm very good at that

(i'll upload this post to my livejournal and neocities when i finally get them to work DX)

hesitant alien - gerard way

hesitant alien is probably one of my top albums of all time. i'm a huge glam-rock fan (david bowie ziggy stardust era is life) and i think gerard captured it very well. my top songs are def "millions", "brother" and "zero zero". brother somehow always manages to draw one dramatic tear like in the movies. millions is actually my favorite song of all time. i listen to it constantly, which may or may not be healthy, but thats okay because it so good. the first chorus always gets me. zero zero is such a badass song. its so choppy in the musicality, and is just a great song all together.

from under the cork tree - fall out boy

i'm a huge fall out boy fan (what emo teenager isn't) but oh em gee is this a good album. i love the overarching theme of "high school stinks but at least i have fall out boy". maybe a bit narcissistic, but it's patrick stump what did you expect. my top songs for this album are "a little less 16 candles", "dance, dance" and "sugar we're going down". i know, i know, basic pics, but they're still good. i love the guitar in 16 candles, it's just so fun. dance dance is a fun sort of revenge (foreshadowing?) type song, and sugar we're going down is the teenage emo anthem.

if - mindless self indulgence

uh oh, grab the pitchforks, it's an msi fan. i'm already wearing my dunce hat, its okay. i think that if is a great album (i'm a huge eletronic rock fan) if only jimmy urine wasn't a pedo. he's so silly. my top songs from if are "never wanted to dance", "get it up" and "issues". "prescription" is my runner up. never wanted to dance is actual one of the best songs i've heard period, and it has a very cool music video. i love seeing the mindless self indulgence members trapped in a DDR machine. get it up was the first msi song i heard and it was totally worth it. the chorus is so scream-able. and last but certainly not least is issues, my 3rd favorite msi song ever. its so good, and just really fun.

three cheers for sweet revenge - my chemical romance

i had to do it. my chem is def one of my top bands of all time, and oh my god they knew what they were doing with this one. my top three songs are "it's not a fashion statement, its a deathwish", "the ghost of you", and "you know what they do to guys like us in prison". obviously i love them all, but these just have a special place in my heart. i'll probably do a seperate post later where i just yap about mcr but for now make due with these. deathwish is so amazing. that last "i lost my fear of falling" makes me buckle at the knees (foreshadowing again??) and sob uncontrollably. the ghost of you was one of my favorite songs back when i was a normie and scared of mcr, but still holds up. its just so edible. and that music video good god. then of course the gay song, ykwtdtgluip. im a huge fan of the used and bert mccracken, so this song is like a baby angel and a puppy all at once. i love the musicality, the guitar is very cool and choppy, and gerard's vocals are just amazing, as always.

louder now - taking back sunday

taking back sunday are one of my favorite band ever, but louder now is 100% their best album by far. i like how all of the songs instrumentals kind of tie together, while also being distinctly different from the next. my top three songs from this album are "makedamnsure", "what's it feel like to be a ghost" and "sleep". makedamnsure is one of their most popular songs, but it deserves it. the music video is so cool, who doesn't want to see adam lazzara getting blown away by a crazy high power fan? wifltbag is one of my current favorite songs, i think that the lyrics are very well written, and just everything about it is very awesome. i've learned from experience that any alt rock song called sleep is going to absolutely knock your socks off, and this song is no exception. adam's vocals and that sick beginning acoustic guitar are just so cool.

that's all for now, but definitely expect more yapping about music in the future
