LOVE IS A CHOICE.

I have had a lot going on recently. A lot of life stuff going on. My friends house is super messy and I wanted to be there for him. So, I decided, despite him telling me I did not need to, to clean his room for him. I also have been learning to be a better partner for my girlfriend, reading our Bible's more consistently and setting healthy boundaries. And these things have made me really come to see that love is very much a choice, not a feeling. Feelings fade. There is going to come a point where we become all old and wrinkly. Where we are not very attractive on the outside anymore. Where our sexual appeal is not there. That is why when we wake up every morning, we choose to love the people in our life that we do. I choose to love my best friends, I choose to love my girl, and I choose to love my family. Everyone is susceptible to sin, everyone will screw up and hurt you. But, it is up to us to choose whether we forgive them or not. I am not saying to put up with abuse, that would not be good. I am saying to give grace, and to love people because you simply say "I choose this person, this person is worth it to me". Just like there will always be someone more skilled than you, there are going to come other attractive people. People that ignite a fire that excites you. But, you have history with the lover you have. You have foundations you have built. So, why destroy all of that for a bit of fun? I am grateful for the life I am leading, and for the people that choose to tolerate me. I am especially grateful that God gives me grace for my wrongdoing. God loves you. Stay safe. :)
