hey chat. i'm about to go on a rant on mccafferty/nick harktop, because i. want to.

so the first thing i'm starting this with is that i do NOT support him, i pirate their music whenever I get a craving for it. and yeah blah blah blah "he made an apology song!" "it's because he has mental illness!" yap yap yap I DONT GIVE A SHIT!! THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE!! IM GLAD HE FUCKING HATES HIMSELF LIKE HE SHOULD!! "but he has depression" HES A RAPIST AND AN ABUSER!? HOPE THIS HELPS!? anyway but just in case ur the one midwest emo fan on spacehey and ur a big nick harktop fan, this is absolutely not a safe space!! just had to get that one out of the way.

NOW! ON THEIR ACTUAL MUSIC! it's really good. i hate how fucking. really good it is. like i get absolute cravings for this shit. (specifically scotland, nails like god, dead bird, brit rock, shitmyfriendsusedtosay, sellout (house with no doorbell version), floorboards, snakes, and uhh graveyard. they're my absolute favs.) but is all their music really good? NO!! in fact! their music has gotten significantly WORSE since the rest of the band (rightfully) left! queerball?? what the fuck was that!! his apology song, isn't it beautiful? dogshit!! not to mention how much he victimized himself "man why do people talk shit about me online" yeah i fucking wonder!! blah blah i'm glad he's getting help, genuinely, cus like at least he probably won't be abusing anyone else anytime soon, but i absolutely cannot sympathize with someone who's done that shit.

anyway uh. mccafferty forever!! that's a fairly recent album with a bunch of re recorded stuff, and it fucking sucks!! it's not unlistenable like when he tries to rap but all the originals are ten thousand percent better. i think a common mistake lead singers make is thinking they carry the band, and that they don't need their other members, like they could go solo and be fine. that's true for some, but not this fucko. "but he has new members!!" and i don't know where the fuck he found them, but they aren't making him any better. all he does is layer vocals and hope for the best it is NOT working like he thinks it is!!

genuinely the last actual good album they released was the house with no doorbell, right before the rest of the band left and you can tell. ALSO!! "two demos never released from 2017 so please don't think i'm coming back i promise you i won't" (i think i got that all right) is CRAZY cus imagine dropping that and then... coming back...... girl.............?

another thing um. this one's just. fucking funny. mccafferty vs tfb. originally from beachboy 2 in 2016. imagine u really like the front bottoms. like u take a lot of inspiration from them, u really respect them, you reference them in ur music and shit. in like 2013 or so, someone notices you kinda sound like the front bottoms (you do). what is your response? become a front bottoms HATER. "nuh uh i would never copy tfb" what happened to "steal all my lines from this guy named brian [sella]". 

anyway but. it's kinda late. i'll return to haterism tomorrow. thanks if u read this far.
