Yes, they can destroy your precious electronics by leaking or corroding if you keep them inside your electronics for a long time.
Rechargable batteries = lot better, because you can use the same batteries and don't have to worry much. (according to my experience).

Oh yes, definitely! Above all, not only are they inefficient and easily-broken, they're simply so wasteful. Furthermore, I fear that the volatility of the substances inside of alkaline batteries\ may come back to bite us in the long-term :((
