I think this is like a journal now.

I've discovered that I really like strangers and I wish they knew how much I was willing to do for them! Is it not our duty as people in a society to help others? Imagine a village member was hurt, wouldn't you want to protect them? We should care about people outside of our family and friends. There shouldn't be the expectation that I will be selfish before every interaction. Instead, we should have the expectation that we're selfless, and will support each other. 

I feel like we have to slice through many layers of distrust before we feel allowed to love anyone. 

We must consider WHY we feel that way. What societal institutions make us feel that way, what cultural values?

It's not enough to be critical of ourselves, we must also be critical of the systems we inhabit.
