why do people near me forget about the actual roots of most subcultures in real life. they preach about how cool punks are but as soon as you're a leftist or don't like authority they are frothing at the mouth. they call themselves emo but judge you when you have authentic 2000s emo hair or any sort of non-trendy piece of clothing the same way mean basic girls do. everyone's "mental health advocates" until you're more than slightly depressed, then you're weird.
