art is hard (any art tips?)

i started drawing when i was like, what, 4? im in my teens now and i still suck ass at drawing. like, ofc, i know how to draw at least somewhat good anatomy, and like. i know how to draw n color things in- but improvement is hard. sure, i know, practice makes improvement and i know it's hard to get there and, yes, i know, i'll learn over time. but. it's just so. comically hard. i still don't know what brushes to use or how to shade things in properly. like. tf?? well, at least i'll have my pinterest tutorials i guess

and don't even get me started on the sketch vs. final product. i swear. the sketch is good n all, but then the lineart?? that shit looks half baked. it looks so empty. 

oh. but maybe coloring it in will help it look better! WRONG. the base colors are fine for me. but. the fucking. shading. light source this, shadows that, it's all pretty much the same struggle. i've never shaded with a black airbrush- at least i don't think- but i have shaded with an airbrush. a lot. airbrushing can be good at times if you know what you're doing, but just. don't cover the whole canvas i guess. that's what i learned.

and. can we puhleaasee talk about how shitty the art community is. everyone's commenting "art lore" or some shit under a literal child's art post. like. that's a fucking child. not vincent van fucking goh? wow. very shocking. then everyone wonders why young artists don't draw anymore. like, the community had them burning at the stake for making the face too long, or making the eyes asymmetrical. 

now, i'll cut my yapping short. i'm looking for some art advice. does anybody happen to have any tips? it doesn't matter what.  shading, anatomy, coloring, perspective, anything. even color theory.  so please drop your art advice below.
