lesbianism. (Love Lies Bleeding)

i watched love lies bleeding on friday and i don't think i've ever been so affected by a theater experience ever. the movie was so amazing and getting to hear it, surround-sound, was honestly a blessing. i'm sort of familiar with queer films, like i watched portrait of a lady on fire and liked it, but this movie had me sweating in my seat. I legitimately couldn't tear my eyes from the screen.

everyone keeps talking about kristen stewart and, yeah, she was a awesome tiny top once again, but like.... katy o'brian???? hello??? every face expression she made had me ENRAPTURED, like i am in love. theres this alamo theater clip they made with her telling the audience to turn off their cellphones and whatever or she'll literally give em a beat-down and i said "promise?" not even joking i think i love girl bodybuilders now. omw to venice beach this INSTANT.

but ngl seeing so many people call their relationship butch4butch when the only thing "butch" about jackie was her physicality was kind of annoying. i think being muscular and being femme aren't mutually exclusive. theres this interview with the cast where katy o'brian is talking about how casting for her can be kind of redundant cause of her muscles! and she was fully expecting her role in llb to be like this super butch person who, quote, "wears dungarees and wields a massive strap on" (which to be fair i would NOT have minded) and it was a pleasant surprise to play a character who has longer hair, who wears feminine clothing, who's not really a top! like jackie in the movie never read as butch for me because, ig while bodybuilding is a traditionally masculine sport/activity, i felt like the movie (and the preview thingies my local theater showed before the movie) wanted to say "hey! lets not subscribe gender stereotypes to getting ripped!". 

anyways,,, i really liked this movie! it was a fun time and im glad i got to see it in theaters. katy o'brian if you by some chance read this PLEASE give me a chance i won't text or talk during the movie i PROMISE!!!111!
