Test and Exams. (Opinions and Understandings)

(I am 100% making this because I have 3 tests next week)

My Psychology teacher said something to my class not that long ago that really made me think, It was along the lines of how she may teach us all these things but the main thing she wants from us is "our ability to efficiently answer exam questions". which got me thinking, "maybe there is a point to exams" because depending on our career choice there are questions we may need to answer however when relating back to myself and my peers, I find the opposite to be true.

An example is my last English test, which I luckily got to redo. I am good at English Literature and during lessons I am perfectly capible at answering questions, whether regarding context or the book itself, however I did absloutely terrible in my last test(i did redeem myself) but I find it really weird that we have to read a book, somehow memorise every quote for any senario and somehow pass especially in this society where teens are sleeping 3-4 hours less than recommened or needed- For context, sleep is an important part of retaining information for the long-term- is completely ludacris. In addition, the importance teachers place on revision and homework, leaves students barely anytime for recreational activites at a resonable hour, so instead they may stay up late scrolling as they are unable to make time for their hobbies and the only thing they are able to do is scroll mindlessly as it requires minimal effort, increasing screentime. Finally, the fact the exam results may determine our future, even if the student is doing great during class is dumb as they may not have time to revise or they have not found an efficient method which could effect the overall outcome of their schooling that could all be in vain because of one silly exam.

In short, I think that exams counting for most of your grade (in most subjects) is imbicilic and also, I just hate them.
