im watching the second ep of evangelion rn and its making me realize some pretty obvious things like, no matter the tech, the time, the place, intelligence and human emotion can be found. we are never completely devoid of it, you just have to know where to look. it may come in small quantities but its there. you can drown from it or learn to breathe it. you can ignore it or you can embrace it. by watching the old anime style of evangelion i've come to the conclusion that hate, love, and sadness is everywhere and its kinda funny. humans will always come to express themselves and thats the beauty of art. it can be found everywhere by everyone. well idk about love but maybe thats just me being sour. its really beautiful to see.
back to evangelion, i like the style and everything is super cool. im liking it so far but im also really upset at myself for watching it because i know im probably gonna cry. Rei is kinda freaking me out by appearing everywhere though.
i dont know if what im saying is stupid or not. it probably is but hey, atleast now i know.
what other animes should i watch? and whats yalls fave trope? mine is when a super op person goes to school. like yohaji where haruaki goes to hyakki academy, or like tbhk where hanako is just pretty much annoying nene while she does school stuff. i like that kinda stuff.

I never got around to finishing it, but I did enjoy what I saw of 'Overman King Gainer', I think from the guy who made the original Mobile Suit Gundam? It has some fun mech battles and designs, and it seemed like it was going somewhere interesting with the radicalisation of propagandised societies. But man, if you're used to the slower pacing of Eva this feels like it has the zoomies in comparison. I had to watch the first episode a couple of times just to make sure I actually understood what was happening. Still worth looking into for a bit though!
As for a favourite trope, I can't get enough of sudden art-style shifts for comedy (Bocchi is a favourite of mine for that reason :D)
i'll look it up when im done watching the others! it sounds pretty kewl.

evangelion is special because hideaki anno actually had completely free reign to make whatever he wanted as a favour from his boss because he was struggling with depression (and as a thank you for his work on previous shows). its pretty rare actually for an anime to be made without being based on a popular manga (lain is another one)
its so deep, ive legitimately watched it like atleast 50 times (no joke lol) and i still notice new things each time that completely blow my mind.
some other cool anime with similar vibes: cowboy bebop, akira, 'memories', aeon flux (not really anime but similar)
actually, if youre looking for cool oldschool anime just go on youtube and type in 'ova 80s' or 'ova 90s' and youll find a tonne of really good experimental stuff.
Thats actually really cool! Thank you for that. Im definitely gonna watch more 80s and 90s anime after this. Thanks for the cool facts and advice! ^^
