★My love for 00s, PS2-era & SUDA51 video games (feat. Killer7) ★★

★ Intro :

Goichi Suda (Suda51) is a Japanese lead game designer who founded Grasshopper Manufacture and created lovely titles such as No More Heroes, Lollipop Chainsaw, The Silver Case and my personal fav game of ALL time, Killer7. I made this blog to gush about Killer7, introduce myself & meet others who're interested in playing his games or already love his works!

★ To Killer7 :

Killer7 is one of the most unique video games ever created, hands down. It's a a first & third person shooter that's on-rails (you can only move on the games' tracks), has a lot of puzzles and readable documents while also including numerous characters to interact with throughout the level. It's an absurd, social commentary and yet so silly. It leaves you with so many spinning emotions, questions and ideas about it's world that you're left with so much. The premise is the world of Killer7 has created a global peace treaty with the entire world and all nations to counteract war and terrorism. Each country has destroyed all their nuclear weapons in tandem, abandoned air travel, created bridges spanning oceans & restricted the use of internet strictly. Geopolitically, people believed this would be the end of war and violence. Shortly after these developments, a new evil appeared, the Heaven Smile. These entities cloak as humans or stay invisible to the naked eye and detonate to kill humans. Your role as the Killer7 is to stop them, you're a group of the 7 world's greatest assassins. If I say anymore, I would sour the experience, I want everyone to go in fresh! The game has a great soundtrack, amazing cel-shaded art style, great animated cutscenes, points of horror, points of hilarity and so much style. Rave on!!

★ All else :

Outside of Suda51, I'm also into Silent Hill, Ape Escape, Metal Gear Solid, WarioWare, Tekken, Resident Evil and Dodonpachi (plus other bullet hells). Although my exclusion on this blog, I also like lotsa newer titles as well, just most don't scratch that itch I have for games. One of the games that surprised me recently though is called Picayune Dreams, maybe I'll make a blog on dat luvly game and other new indie titles <3 I'd also love to hear some of you (the readers') fav games and maybe even strong recommendations! I have a huge backlog but I'm always curious to learn about more games. One of the ones that I've been meaning to play is Yoot Saito's Seaman. Absolutely insane for it's time.

(Extra) A bit about me :

Haaiiii, my name is Mont and I'm an 18 y/o enby who's pursuing game design. This fall I'll be going into college to study game design and I practice game design independently (through my own projects & other's games).
