Welcome back to my personal car themed blog, I'm the writer of the blog "Project TiredGas Drift"
I haven't written a blog for almost 4 months, I know. but I have some news and experiences to share with you.
let's start from where we stopped, from November 25th, I said that that Saturday I would go at the local track (Pista Salentina) to see the WSE Series (A rally event accompanied by the Salento Drift drift show)
I went with two of my friends, the day was very cold and windy. it was the coldest day of this whole winter in my opinion; it was impossible to be outdoors without shivering in the cold. But the climate didn't stop us anyway
The event started with an exciting Drift Show with different cars such as Mazda MX-5, Toyota GT86, BMW, etc.
When the Rally event was ready to begin the drift cars were withdrawn so the rallyists could start competing, that day's races included two races on two asphalt tracks.
We were there for about 4 hours, luckily to cover us from the cold there was the Café area, in this area there was a simulator from the Driving Simulation Center Lecce, using it cost 20 euros per session, and whoever got the best time ( on the same virtual track where they were rallying at the time) won free minutes on the simulators in Lecce, but I don't remember exactly how many minutes. However I didn't use it because I was broke :D
At a certain point we were getting bored seeing the same old Skodas or old Peugeots racing (yes some cars were really boring to look at), so we decided to take a look at what was in the car park to see if there was anything interesting
And actually we had found something interesting, like the cars from the drift show, a mitsubishi evo X, some kartcross and other cool cars, but two in particular caught my attention
One car was the Lancia Delta HF Integrale with the Totip livery, a car that has countless victories behind it, including world victories, and a great fame throughout the world, even if its fame is mostly known in Martini Racing guise, but it is still a rally Lancia Delta
The other car was my dream car, a white Toyota GR86, I never expected to find it there, I was fascinated I had never seen one in person, I felt like I was in a dream, in person it is much more beautiful and much lower than it appears on the photos on the internet. I feel sorry for my friends who had to put up with me while I was going crazy over that car.
I continued to daydream about that car even on the way home LOL
Moving on to other things, do you remember when I complained about the Italian law which imposes on new drivers (those who have had a license for less than 3 years) that in addition to the speed limits, they cannot drive cars exceeding 70kW of power (so there are very few cars that I can drive and own when I turn 18 and have my license)? well, they want to change that law, they want the limit to be 105kw of power (~+140 HP), from what I know they haven't put this law into force yet but I hope so do. if so, I will be able to afford cars the way I like them (rear-wheel drive and manual transmission)
For now I have not yet achieved the goal of coming into close contact with the local drift team or/and with the local rally team, I hope to achieve it as soon as possible, with each passing day my desire grows more and more to be a rally driver (as a hobby, not as a full time job ofc). yes, I know that there are a boy and a girl younger than me who are rally drivers in my local rally team, but unfortunately like them I don't have a family that is passionate about motors or involved in the world of motorsports, so I have to develop this passion with my own strength (also because my family disagrees about this passion of mine)
This Sunday there is another WSE Series event, but this time without the Drift Show of the local drift team, if I go it could be a good opportunity to meet someone from the Scuderia Casarano Rally Team (the local rally team) and get in touch with them . But I'm not sure whether I will be able to go to the event or not
STAY TUNED
