Diary: I'm flying out tonight!

March 12th, 2024

I've waited about a year for this day. In just a few hours, my fiancé, Adam, is going to the Us Embassy in London to interview for his visa. Shortly after, I'll be hopping on a plane to stay with him for a month while we get his life packed up. We'll be flying to Scotland for a few days for a little breather just because we're in the area. At least, to me we are. 

Our first few days will probably be spent settling in and catching up on all the time we've missed in the last six months. His friends are eager to see me, and we may go with them to the zoo again. I heard the red pandas there had babies since I've been gone.

On our second week, we will be flying to Aberdeen, Scotland for some hiking. Hopefully the weather will be fair enough to hike to Dunnottar Castle. There's something really grounding about standing on the edge of a cliff in a ruined castle.

For the third week, we plan to visit all of Adam's family and maybe even have Easter dinner with them. It'll be the first time they've met me-- and doubly the first time they're hearing Adam is moving to the states-- so I've got to make a good impression. I hope they feel confident I'll take good care of him.

As for the rest of our time together, we'll play it by ear. There's a lot of sorting and packing to do. I hope we don't have to leave too many things behind.

We'll be back on the 10th to start our new lives together. :)
