JM anime magazine

Hello my friends! happy sunday and welcome to my blog :D

I haven't bought many magazines for a while now but when I heard that this iconic magazine was back on newsstands I couldn't resist buying it!

JM, Japan Magazine was born in 1991 and was published until 2005. It was one of the first magazines in Italy to bring content on anime and manga.

It was admitted by the authors of the magazine that in the beginning, especially the translations were not always faithful to the original and that there were many errors.

Since I was a child at the time, I never read it but I heard a lot about it and I thought I'd also get the ones that will be released in the next few months.

the focus is on anime and manga from the 80s and 90s and there are also these beautiful posters, this time one of Kiss me Licia and the other one of Lady Georgie. Have you ever seen these anime?

Lady-Georgie

in this edition there is written about Orange Road, an anime that has remained in the hearts of many people, and all the censorship it has undergone in Italy to make it suitable for children.

there are pages dedicated to the most famous italian voice actors and I'm always enchanted to see how their voices change so much from one character to another and make it so unique.

other pages are dedicated to curiosities about Japan, Mazinger Z, Power Rangers, cosplayers and upcoming anime programs on tv.

it's always curious to see how in the italian adaptation the japanese names are totally changed like in Orange Road, Madoka becomes Sabrina, Hikaru becomes Tinetta (?? xD) and Kyosuke becomes Johnny. Are there these changes in your country too?

I really appreciated the part dedicated to the Shonen Jump phenomenon, the best-selling japanese comics magazine in the world.

there are also dedicated pages for City Hunter and Lum (I love it ughh)

one of the most curious parts for sure the anime comics in which a tv episode is put into comics on the pages of the magazine and, as I like it, the crossword part!

what do you think? I liked it overall

in the next edition of the magazine they will talk about Dragon Ball (rip master Toriyama), Doraemon and Kodocha (I love this too). I'm reaaaady!

thanks for reading.

I found it on the newsstand in my city but you can also find this type of magazine in the comic shop or order online from some other newsstand if it isn't available in yours. I hope you will find something similar and enjoy the reading!! ^^
