A Far Too Pretentious Introduction

Hey there, I'm Aoife. I'm a 23 year old transfemme writer from a dying, far too cold city in Canada. 

I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing here. I was just the wrong age when MySpace was a thing, so I guess my brain has always been itching for something cute like that. A space where I can be as pretentious and silly and un-algorithmic as possible, while still dipping my toes in that great big scary digital void.

I'm already annoying myself with the way I'm writing. This is so awesome.

I'm a very minor internet poet, so I figure that's what I'll be here too. I love writing. It's frankly the only thing I'm almost ok at. Reading all of this back right now, I'm not even sure "ok" is the right word. It's typical self absorbed author shit, picking holes in the edit and then still pressing send.

I don't know what the culture is like here. Is there an expectation of regular content, is engagement A Thing, will I be sporadically screaming into the pit and tasting only my echo? I don't know. And that's making me more pretentious. Sorry. Let me start over.

Hey there, I'm Aoife. I'm a 23 year old transfemme writer from a dying, far too cold city in Canada. 

Of course, my name isn't really Aoife (there's always a catch). I think that when I write, for the most part, I'm playing a character. The name Aoife suits the purple prose just fine, so it's the one I've worn online for years at this point.

Links to all my previous work are on my account, but frankly the only other social I've put any effort into is Insta. In fact, this is the most effort I've put into anything publicly that ISN'T my Insta.

I guess we'll see what kind of horse I'm backing :)
