Middle Age

It seems so strange that next month will be 25 years working in the IT industry. I started at 18, not knowing that as I approach my mid 40's, I'd still be doing this stuff.

For so many things that didn't seem to go right in the last 25 years, this is something I'm still amazed at.

Friends are now grandparents. Schoolmates are now dropping like flies. Nearly all of my family is dead. I'm blessed to be married but cursed with the horrible American for-profit healthcare system. I'll be bitter for the rest of my life that insurance companies are why my family is dead and why my wife and I couldn't have kids. BCBSGA literally caused 2 miscarriages back before the ACA passed. If you think we have "the greatest healthcare system in the world" you're either rich, delusional or both.

I just don't get how time flies so fast.
