fatal frame III: the tormented 📷 ‎♡₊‧⁺˖

hiiiii everyone! it's raining so much right now, and i thought it's the perfect time to blog about one of my adored horror video games: fatal frame. i hold this game series so close to my heart! ♥︎

fatal frame is a series of games that feature different characters in each game, with a unique storyline. the gameplay mechanism is mainly about navigating haunted environments, and using the 'camera obscura' to help you defend yourself against the lurking ghosts, by capturing them on film and pacifying them.

i'll first get into how i first played fatal frame ୨୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅ 

the first time i ever knew about the series / the games was back when i was a child, i don't remember exactly how old i was back then, but if i had to guess i would say around 10 years old! i was so little, but i was very intrigued by horror back then; i grew up with older siblings who were obsessed with everything horror, films and video games and etc., hence why i also grew to love everything related to horror! (˶˃ᆺ˂˶)

i watched my siblings play the first game, and then i got the chance to play fatal frame II: crimson butterfly, and fatal frame III: the tormented when i was a little older (around 12 or 13 years old!) ⊹ ࣪ ˖

i really enjoyed playing both games, but fatal frame III: the tormented had the biggest influence on me, and it made me adore anything horror and get into horror video games / horror movies and anything related ⊹ ࣪ ˖

the storyline in fatal frame 3 was beautifully crafted, and it has stayed with me for all these years, even after playing it when i was a child.

my favorite character in fatal frame III: the tormented is definitely the main protagonist, rei kurosawa ♥︎ ⋆˙ 

i loved her so much when i was so little, and she influenced so much of my drawings back then! the entire game, we follow rei's story and see how she deals with grief and the loss of her husband due to the car crash. my favorite element about the game is how we get to play between two worlds, rei's apartment and the manor of sleep. we also see rei's apartment change as the days go by, and as rei visits the sleep manor more. 

the atmosphere in rei's house was so phenomenal and well-made, i loved the gradual change we see in her house as she visits the sleep manor in her dreams, and when she wakes up, she encounters / notices ghosts in her house too. i also loved how the game featured characters from previous games, like miku hinasaki and the twins ♥︎

i really hope that we get a remaster or a remake of this game because i would do absolutely anything to be able to experience it once again! ♥︎

can't forget to mention this beautiful soundtrack from the game: koe - tsukiko amano ✮ ⋆ ˚｡𖦹 ⋆｡°✩ i listened to this song so much after finishing the game! it means the world to me (╥﹏╥)
