I first started listening to Këkht close to a year ago and as of recently I have seen massive amounts of hate going his way. I see lots of people calling him a poser and "ruining bm". I just wanted to know why he's getting lots of hate. Like i know he experiments with his stuff sometimes, but shouldn't people do that for a genre to stay alive and progress ? i haven't listened to anything that has come out since Pale Swordsman, but i adore that album, Night&Love, and Through the Branches to Eternity. Am I missing something or are people just hating for undeserving reasons ??

hmm tbh i think it's because of a big portion of his fans :0 the recent hate has mostly been because of weird tiktok fans and "incel-types" i think. he was also a big meme in the bm community a couple of years ago, which may have done that people don't take him that seriously? but idk. and yeah i also read a review of pale swordsman once, where the review-dude said something along the line of "varg wouldn't approve of this", which i feel like is such bullshit thing to say. so i think partly it's also just some extreme bm people who don't think bm should evolve. (maybe the review-dude was just pissed because crying orc (the man behind këkht aräkh) was inspired by the song name "the crying orc" by burzum, and then the dude maybe felt like këkht aräkh's music should be reminiscence of vargs music. but i dont know :0 anYway sorry for ramble). he has also gotten a bit of a critique of being a bit repetitive, but i feel like that's rather common with bm. so yeah he hasn't done anything bad as far as im aware :O and yessss i love his music as well!!
i find that so dumb that a lot of people basically have it in their minds that if bm doesn't sound like burzum or mayhem it's automatically bad. but what you said abt how more so metal elitists dont even want the genre to evolve is actually a good point that i totally didn't even think about. and i didn't even know he was kinda a meme a few years back. honestly haven't read up too much on him, i just found it odd how much hate he's been getting recently. thanks for replying,, i found it really interesting !!

oh yeah for sure! i find it really weird too. some people are just a bit conservative and narrow-minded ig. yeah i didn't know too before researching him more a while back!:O but yess i get it, i've been wondering about it a lot too🙏, since he seems like a rlly unproblematic guy. and yeah ofc! always happy to talk about music and musicians :3
