A Saturday Morning Mashcore review by a huge RAGGATRAXX fan :)

HELLO!! ITS ME AGAIN!!

Hello!! I'm Remilia !! ^_^ I already reviewed #BREAKCOREISOVERPARTY, and I thought of doing Y-INCISION FANTASY too, however I realized Funsai, the little bastard of a breakcore bunny, doesn't seem to get enough recognition or love. It is up to me to showcase how awesome the concept of Funsai is, and that's why I'll review my favorite album of Funsai's, Saturday Morning Mashcore!!

So, Why this album?

I was originally gonna make my first Funsai review TOONCORED, hoowwwever...The full album stream is no longer there AND you'd have to purchase Backstage for RUMBLERAGGA on bandcamp if you wanna directly listen. Also, even though TOONCORED is a very good album in my opinion, I do favor Saturday Morning Mashcore a lot more!! This is also Funsai's most recent album, being released on June 11th 2022. Since this, Funsai has been in "No Releases anymore" jail for a bit! (No he hasn't, I made that up!), I'm hoping this review will bail him out somehow (It will not) and that some people will finally start to appreciate this breakcore bunny the same way I do.

If you wanna listen for yourself, you can buy it on Bandcamp for $4 USD (or more if you feel generous), a full youtube stream is uploaded, AND all the tracks are on soundcloud seperately. Incase you are blissfully unaware, there is no Funsai on spotify as of March 8th 2024 (maybe for the greater good..) so there's no way to stream it there unless you use your local files. With that out of the way, it's time to start the reviewin ^_^

01. Pink Elephants

There are no words to describe how much I love this song. If ACAPULCO DANCECORE or SUISEISEKI JUULING BEHIND THE CAFETERIA DUMPSTER (the 2021 one, not the 2019 one.) weren't real, then this would be my favorite RAGGATRAXX song. It has a nice evil tone to it and the mixing is so well done. I absolutely love the samples used and I always find something new to fixate on when I listen to it, wether it be the drums, basslines, etc. I love it so very much!! It feels like a signature track as an introduction for Funsai, and maybe a new introduction for him since I used to consider Hey, Stupid! like a theme song of his. It's a very looney tune ! (NO PUN INTENDED WHEN I WROTE THIS. I SWEAR.)

02. Mr. Breakfast

DO YOU WANNA DANCE??? AND ALSO KILL YOUR EARDRUMS??? then this is the track for you! It starts off so laid back and quickly goes in and out of a noisy series of .. y'know, noises. and the little "Why don't you take a picture, it'll last longer!" is stuck in my head everytime I relisten. This also has a goofy factor to it- which is very fitting for Funsai, considering his whole backstory thing is that he's from Toontown.

03. Pretty Brutal, Huh? Well, I'm Insane.

I have mixed feelings for personal reasons, but if we put those aside, this is also a very goofy tune! Oh, You're into Joker Beatbox? You'll love this one.. THIS TRACK IS LEGIT JUST JOKER BEATBOX REMIX. I LOVE IT!!!

04. Hammerspace (Ft. Hi-Fructo-Z)

Hi-Fructo-Z...I'll bail you out of jail soon enough.. For context, this is another alias of Adrian DeMaio/RUMBLERAGGA/Funsai! 

This is a cute song that combines the elements of Funsai and Hi-Fructo-Z's charms ! With Hi-Fructo-Z having a more sweet sounding tone, and Funsai's own wacky little sound. The mixing is incredibly well done and creates a really catchy tone!!

05. Go Ahead, Any Sound!

I LOVE TO SEE FUNSAI SAMPLE FROM ACTUAL TOONS !!! LIKE FANTASIA!!! This is a really cool look into Funsai's small little brain.. His brain filled with bass drums, that is. This really feels like both an audio test and an actual song, if that makes sense!! I like this a lot too, despite it not being a favorite of mine ^^

06. Boom Boom Boom (Bam Bam Bam) (Funsai vs. RUMBLERAGGA)

Sorry, VS???? WHEN THE HELL DID THEY START FIGHTING EACHOTHER TO THE DEATH? (Lol.) On a serious note, This song genuinely feels like some sort of cool ass ssb battle .. Besides I HAVE FURY!! I dunno how to describe it in text but tbh?? The parappa car rap feels a lot like Funsai's side of the battle n the other being RUMBLERAGGA. That's just what I think, though! 

07. GMTower Penis Song [outro]

THIS IS SO SIMPLE. YET SORTA BITTERSWEET. THATS ALL I GOTTA SAY!!

(Not counting skullcore remix again, but it's a good remix ^_^ thank u skullcore for ur hard work !!)

ID SAY TO STREAM THE ALBUM, BUT I ALREADY SAID THAT IN THE BEGINNING . So take this review as you will! Please know I'm no professional reviewer and this is just my personal thoughts on one of my favorite albums. Taste is subjective! Someone else's yuck may be someone else's yum.
