i found some old mismatched socks at my mom's house a while back. tbh they're giving scene and i love it. makes sense tho cause they have to be from like 2013. i remember having these in elementary school lol
anyways they sat for a while but i finally decided to do smth with them and made fingerless gloves!
i of course had to experiment a bit before committing to the good patterns, so yesterday I sacrificed a horrendously 2010s sock to see how i should cut it up + how to line it (if need be).
all the stringies from the designs were BAD SENSORY so lining this one was really important. i ended up finding out the fabric had a stretch pattern (one direction, not all directions) because i laid it wrong here. this is good for future reference since i need my gloves to stretch horizontally (to compensate my hand) instead of vertically.
i might go back and fix this one so it doesn't go to waste but i'm not really sure how i feel about the pattern XD
the glove pictured below is the final run i did today! i used some old crappy fishnets to cover up the upper raw edge and just tightened up the bottom with a few stitches. if y'all want a real tutorial or smth lemme know and i'll make a follow up blog ;3
i also have a few longer socks that got holes near the toe area so i'll probably make some arm warmers soon too :D
also don't judge my hand stitching XD i'm not a pro and was really worried about harming the stretch of the glove bc of the tension
