I'm someone who's always been quite averse to "stepping outside of my comfort zone" and travelling, or doing anything like that. However, my girlfriend is really big on travelling, and I know that if I travel with her, everything will be quite fun. Because going places is fun with the right people.
So, here's my list really of places I want to go with her. I'm going to add to it as time goes on and also tick off places I've been with her.
- Starting with London, we're going there in July. I'm not sure she'll like it like it, but considering it's near to my hometown, and my parents used to work there, I bet I can find some fun things for us to do.
- Paris, or France in general. My goal when I was maybe 17 was to live in France. I love the beaches and the language ans the gastronomy, and I also love its culture and history. I know she's not big on France, but I bet my girlfriend speaks French so cutely.
- Belgium, I want to go to the torture museum (with adjacent waffle house!) with her, and I'd quite like to walk around historical towns like Bruges. When I went, it was pleasant weather and I loved listening to the Belgian dialect of French. I also loved the ice cream and the food in general! I can't wait to go back and bring my girlfriend.
- Germany, for one reason only: Oktoberfest! The idea of drinking beer while listening to Schlager is so interesting to me and I think we'd both really enjoy it!
- Switzerland, because I want to listen to their different dialects of French and German, and even go on some hikes and experience the beautiful nature. And eat chocolate, haha.
- Poland, because my girlfriend went once and really enjoyed how historically and culturally rich it was. I've never really thought about going to Poland, but after hearing my girlfriend talk about it, I think I need to!
- Spain, specifically Madrid, Barcelona, and Salamanca. My girlfriend is going to study in Salamanca for a year or so, and it's a city that means a lot to her and her family. I'd love to take a trip there to see just how beautiful and interesting and culturally rich Spain is, and maybe speak a bit of Spanish, haha (I only speak Spanish when drunk!) Apparently my girlfriend wants to live here in future, a plan I hope I share with her once I visit (let's be real though, I'd follow her anywhere, home is wherever she is)
- Verona. As Salamanca means a lot to my girlfriend because of her parents, Verona means a lot to me because of mine. I've always wanted to go to Italy (despite finding Italian a tough language to hack) and I think it'd be so beautiful to visit.
- Turkey, because I've always had great memories there and my dad's friend has a holiday house there. We'll get tans and swim in the blue sea and get harassed by salesman - it's so much fun. I find Turkish to be a difficult language but I want to learn a bit because it's such an interesting mix of Arabic/Farsi/some Spanish/French/English?! It's so interesting and the food in Turkey is so good.
- Japan, even though I'm going there for my year abroad in 2025 (and dreading it). I don't really want to go alone, so far away. I want to go with my girlfriend, and eat proper sushi, and wear a kimono and visit an onsen and have a picnic under the cherry blossoms and go to a matsuri and watch fireworks in yukata, and I want to speak Japanese with her even if she doesn't really know any. I know I won't drag her to any concerts (especially Miku ones), nor will I drag her to any horse races (unless she really wants me infodumping about the classing triple crown series), but even just going would be so fun. I want to go see the Hokkaido snow festival and I want to waste money in a gachapon machine and I want to walk across the Scramble Crossing in - Shibuya? Not sure. But I'd love to take my girlfriend there.
I know this list will only expand, and I think our globetrotting adventures are going to be so much fun. I guess as long as we don't go to a country where we may get punished for being lesbians, I think we'll be alright. I want to learn at least little bits of the languages before going, because I really do love learning languages (well, ones that I think sound nice or interesting - some of them are ones I'm not that into!) But I'm glad I'm not apathetic towards this sort of thing. I can be, because I'm very introverted. But the idea of travelling with my wonderful girlfriend fills me with life.

I'm looking forward to it a little more now, it's moreso the intense amount of paperwork I have to do before I go. Also the fact I won't be with any friends :,) wish you could go instead of me lol
