- did yall still use phonebooks in this decade or was that dropped in the late 90's/vv early 00's for phone contacts to come in? eg, saving Rylee's phone number on your flip/slider phone instead of writing it down in a phonebook or, if possible, saving Aimy's e-mail on your Yahoo! e-mail/skype contacts list (the e-mail example may be more 2010's but ykwim)
- what music was all over the radio, on MTV, the charts and was really popular in the 2000s? i know a few 2000s icons are Avril Lavigne and My Chemical Romance for the emos/scenes and Mariah Carey and possibly Britney Spears for the people who werent emos or scenes, i really wanna listen to more 2000s music :0
- what was using myspace and having to ask to use a phone or the internet at all like? is spacehey similar myspace at all, eg the more obvious stuff like profile layouts/the less obvious stuff like your top 8?
- the tv shows looked so fun 2 watch :o did you have to ask to use the tv or was it a different situation? was cable and the internet 2 different things?
- if you grew up in this decade - kid or teen, alternative or 2000s normal, in or out of school - what was your childhood like? i bet it was rlly fun!!!
- if you remember things like aol, msn, Yahoo! messages if that was a thing and more, how fun were they?
- what were some popular foods from 2000-2009 that youd like me to attempt trying? nothing that ive became aware of from 2010 onwards like mcdonalds or costas
- what were some popular shows from the same era? im imagining mlp, monster high and invader zim but i could be way off and dont just wanna wrongly assume things here
- do you have any 2000s games, songs, hobbies or other things youd like me to try? it can be anything ranging from Red Steel on the Wii (which i do have rn) to something as extreme as learning to sk8board!

European loser that was born in 2003 here! Would love to answer these questions. :]
Q. did yall still use phonebooks in this decade or was that dropped in the late 90's/vv early 00's for phone contacts to come in? eg, saving Rylee's phone number on your flip/slider phone instead of writing it down in a phonebook or, if possible, saving Aimy's e-mail on your Yahoo! e-mail/skype contacts list (the e-mail example may be more 2010's but ykwim)
A. I did have a book that I put some phone numbers, email and Skype names in, but at that point most people moved on to just storing these things digitally, since you could already store contacts on your mobile phones and on your email and Skype contacts. I'd say these contact books were more popular in the 90s, before devices had built-in contact pages. They were still sometimes used in the 2000s for landline calling.
Q. what music was all over the radio, on MTV, the charts and was really popular in the 2000s? i know a few 2000s icons are Avril Lavigne and My Chemical Romance for the emos/scenes and Mariah Carey and possibly Britney Spears for the people who werent emos or scenes, i really wanna listen to more 2000s music :0
A. We listened to a radio station that would mostly play popular rock and some pop. Some examples of musicians I heard on the radio a lot as a child were Train, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Eyes Peas, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Foo Fighters, etc. Let me know if you want me to make a list of some songs!
Q. what was using myspace and having to ask to use a phone or the internet at all like? is spacehey similar myspace at all, eg the more obvious stuff like profile layouts/the less obvious stuff like your top 8?
A. I got on social media on 2010, so I can't really speak on social media in the 2000s. I also didn't have MySpace, as Hyves was the popular social media in my country at the time, before Facebook became the most popular. SpaceHey does feel pretty close to Hyves in terms of focusing on customizability. Hyves was kind of like a combination of MySpace and Facebook. As for dial-up... I've used Wi-Fi all of my life. Maybe I've used cable internet a few times when I was really young? But I couldn't go online much back then anyway, because we personally didn't have Wi-Fi at home until I was around 8.
Q. the tv shows looked so fun 2 watch :o did you have to ask to use the tv or was it a different situation? was cable and the internet 2 different things?
A. The tv and dial-up internet/Wi-Fi were different! Dial-up went over your phone line, meaning you couldn't use your homephone while browsing the internet and vice versa. Wi-Fi uses radio waves and analog tv does too, but they didn't interfere. I spent a lot of my tween years watching Nickelodeon and playing Habbo at the same time and such.
Q. if you grew up in this decade - kid or teen, alternative or 2000s normal, in or out of school - what was your childhood like? i bet it was rlly fun!!!
A. Well, just like any child, there were down as well as ups in my childhood. My childhood was kind of rough, but there were some things that I do think were better then than they are now. I used to play outside a lot as a kid. Nowadays, a lot of kids play outside way less and they are more focused on being alone. Back then, not everyone could play games online yet, so you'd get together with your Nintendo DSes and game physically together. I think this alienation from everyone nowadays due to online games and social media is not great for most people. But just because it's not the 2000s anymore doesn't mean you can't enjoy cool 2000s things and activities anymore! Go watch a DVD or play games physically together with a friend. Go hang out outside. Maybe shoot some hoops with a basketbal. Most fun things from back then are things you can still do now. I still try to hang out with people in real life regularly. :]
Q. if you remember things like aol, msn, Yahoo! messages if that was a thing and more, how fun were they?
A. I used to use Skype a lot for online friends and for friends who didn't have WhatsApp. I used to text my online friends and call quite often with a friend I didn't get to see every day. That way we kept in touch. Skype was pretty nice, but it did look more boring than MSN and AOL. Unfortunately never tried those.
Q. what were some popular foods from 2000-2009 that youd like me to attempt trying? nothing that ive became aware of from 2010 onwards like mcdonalds or costas
A. Honestly don't know. Pretty much ate the same snacks I still often do. :P
Q. what were some popular shows from the same era? im imagining mlp, monster high and invader zim but i could be way off and dont just wanna wrongly assume things here
A. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Monster High both came out in 2010, but Invader Zim was pretty popular with emos at that time, I think. Maybe it was popular as a whole in other places, but I personally never watched it. I mostly watched Nickelodeon, but I also liked Jetix/Disney XD and Disney Channel. I'll list some shows I watched on those channels back in the day. Recess (1997-2001), ChalkZone (1998-2002), Spongebob Squarepants (1999-still ongoing somehow), Totally Spies! (2001-2014), The Fairly OddParents (2001-2017), The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius (2002-2006), Kim Possible (2002-2007), Lilo & Stitch: The Series (2003-2006), Danny Phantom (2003-2007) (only recently started watching it, but I really like it), Drake & Josh (2004-2007), The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005-2008), The Emperor's New School (2006-2008), El Tigre (2007-2008), iCarly (2007-2012), Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012), True Jackson, VP (2008-2011), Zeke and Luther (2009-2012), Big Time Rush (2009-2013). This got insanely long, sorry, lol. Also let me know if you want titles of popular shows for adults during that time!
Q. do you have any 2000s games, songs, hobbies or other things youd like me to try? it can be anything ranging from Red Steel on the Wii (which i do have rn) to something as extreme as learning to sk8board!
A. Well, I already gave you a lot of artists and shows to check out, but since you have a Wii, get Mario Kart Wii and connect it to the Wiimmfi if you want to play online like the good old days. :] Let me know if you need help with that. Also, if you like retro social media, Neocities is a clone of Geocities that lets you create your own website and Dreamwidth is based on the blogging site LiveJournal, and run by old employees of it (LiveJournal is now owned by a Russian company that's pretty shady). You can also use Escargot's servers to get MSN Messenger working again! (Just be aware that it's security isn't great, so don't ever put personal info in there.) As for other things... maybe try thrifting some CDs. Read a novel or comic book. Watch a movie on DVD. And just try to hang out with friends physically, or go shoot some hoops or learn how to play guitar. Those are my recommendations. :] Oh, and I also like spending my time doing photography and video recording with older cameras. It can make something that happened yesterday look nostalgic!

Too much text ahead!Sorry xD!
I don't use phonebooks since 2010's but I'm pretty sure I have old ones from 00's scattered around the house somewhere.
Here black music dominated almost all FM stations in 00's (I'm from Brazil). Ciara, Akon, Beyonce, Soulja Boy, 50 Cent. We also had a lot of Black Eyed Peas, Erika, Lasgo, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Gorillaz. Of regional music, we had Vanessa da Mata, Skank, Charlie Brown Jr., Pitty (I loved when her clip of Na Sua Estante aired at MTV), Tihuana, Kelly Key, Rouge, Felipe Dylon.
It was too late when I discovered MySpace (Facebook was the new cool thing), so i can't say anything abt that. It was so painful to ask to use the Internet, I remember that I only could use on sundays because it was free of charge, otherwise our phone bill would be soooo expensive. My father gave me my first basic cellphone when V3 was THE CELLPHONE. I just didn't got more upset because my phone had games inside! I recall also using our home phone a lot to chat with my best friend (we still in the same neighborhood after 15+ years, insane)
We had an unspoken rule at home that I would have the TV on the afternoons to watch cartoons after school, and then at night my mom and grandma would watch the news and soap operas, only thing that I had to ask was to play video games, my mom was very strict and I could play only 1-2 hours when she was at home on the weekends, grandma was be more permissive and let me play more hours within the week. Both cable and internet were expensive, we just got cable TV after 2010's, when it became cheaper.
My childhood was bittersweet, I had a lot of cool moments but also a lot of trauma from it. I really miss hanging out outside, I had a couple of third places to be with friends back in the day, most of them are long gone now.
MSN WAS SO AMAZING OMG. It was so exciting to me to socialize with my real friends and internet friends when I could use our family PC! I would add a ton of emoticons to my MSN (specially GIF ones) to sent to friends. Also the winkies that you lag almost every PC out there! I really hated when Skype took over, it was soo laggy and ugly compared to MSN.
I'm unsure if you can find it but we had a popular lollipop here called Dipnlik, it comes in a bag with a flavoured type of sour sugar inside.
I remember Arthur, Caillou, Rugrats, Clifford The Red Dog, Little Bear, The Country Mouse and the City Mouse Adventures, Pinky Dinky Doo, Rupert, Timothy Goes to School, Pokemon, Beyblade, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto. There's a lot more I'm pretty sure. MLP and Invader Zim aired exclusively in cable for many years in here so I don't really remember much of them from back in the day
Scooter riding for a hobbie, Tragédie - Hey Oh and Erika - I don't Know for songs!
