HELLO!!!
My name is Remi!! I'm gonna talk as professionally as I can right now, proper punctuation and everything, since this'll be a more serious blog! My friend has made a review on one of RUMBLERAGGA's albums before, and I also wanna do the same, but with a favorite of mine. #BREAKCOREISOVERPARTY, which was released on December 3rd 2021!
But first, let's talk about Why I chose this one to review!
This album holds a lot of signifigance to me to put it in a very simple way. I have a lot of reasons! This was an album that dropped after I recovered from a very bad series of trauma and it felt so refreshing to hear some new sound after all of it, it felt rewarding in a way, and as stupid as it sounds, this album has also helped me feel much better in times that I've really needed it. It is also the first full album that dropped when I was super sure that I had a "hyperfixation" (now special interest, bc it's almost been 3 whole years now) on RAGGATRAXX. This only fueled it further and I made a custom CD of it as well due to how much I love this album. It's also my most streamed album, and I've listened to every track thoroughly and even relistened yesterday to make this as accurate as possible. I will point out flaws if I feel that there's any!!
01. PEACE OUT (Intro)
"Remilia, why the HELL are you reviewing an intro that is nothing but Adrian's voice and ONLY 27 seconds?" That's why! I have to review something as special as this! I love this intro, and that is an understatement. It is not a song, but just a personalized little message. I don't actually remember the last time I've heard Adrian speak if we haven't even heard him speak before or after this, So this is really special!! I'd love to hear them speak more (amongst their own will, not by force please. I understand if they're shy.) and this intro just feels, again, personalized ^_^ It's a really nice message to the listener without having to say many words, and anyone who doesn't know RUMBLERAGGA would probably get a good impression of him just from this alone. So I like it, personally! The only flaw I could see is since this has aged a lot (3 years) is some people could find the last part to be cringy? (personally I find it rly endearing tho) But other than that, literally nothing else. It is just a message, and I like the simplicity of it!
02. WHAT I'M GONNA DO
At first I wasn't actually a fan of this song. The mixing felt really weird to me, but as time went on, I started to like it! The Ren and Stimpy sample at the start is just the little cherry ontop of everything else. However, I can see how other people wouldn't enjoy it. I dunno how to describe the mixing in words, but it's very...??????????????? <- That's my best way of describing it in words. I don't have many words for this song, I like it, but I can see how it can be dislikable.
03. ACAPULCO DANCECORE
SO I HAVE OVER 1K LISTENS ON THIS SONG, I SHOULD KNOW HOW IT IS. It's very dancecorey (as the title suggests) and has a fresh tone to it! The H.E.A.T sample also feels super sweet. The track has a "nostalgic" kinda feel to it, and the sound as a whole isn't too rough on the ears, it's a sweet sounding song! I can't really bring up any flaws other than the fact that it can sound insanely repetitive if you play it too many times in a row (personal experience, I still love the song very dearly and I'm not listening to it now but when I listen again I'd probably beat my own ass just for this statement) but otherwise, I really love this one :)
04. ORAL FIXATION (w/ Hi-Fructo-Z)
For those confused minds who don't know who Hi-Fructo-Z is, they're another alias of RUMBLERAGGA/Adrian DeMaio who focuses on breakbeat. That's really all for now, their original concept was being a robo-catgirl from outer space and she is very dear to me as well..
ANYWAYS! This song was on MBS002 (Mad Breaks 2nd Compilation) and I was pleased to hear it there! The song itself has a rough, yet a sweet little kick to it as you listen (probably with the vocals) I don't have much else to say because it's quite hard to put my thoughts on something into words. I see little to no flaw with this song!!
05. SLAUGHTERING TIKTOK HOES WITH A CAPTIVE BOLT PISTOL WHILE HIGH ON BATH SALTS
I remember this used to be his most popular on spotify with a whopping 1k listens :0!! AND WITH GOOD REASON!! This song's sampling of Kreayshawn gives her so much justice. I like the beat after the chorus happens and it's a really good remix (if you can even call it that) of Gucci Gucci!! The end especially has a good pace of repetition and the end is continuous enough to fit in a transition to another song here. Maybe like a fade in. I feel like there's a flaw with this song that I can't pinpoint.. I really like it though ^_^
06. RAVE ☹N!
What can I say? It has a traditional ravey sound with breakcore mashed into it. I like it! However the mix feels a little? Uncertain? Idk!!! Idk how to word it!! I'm running out of words to say O_O;;; Anywho !! I like it ^^ It's not a favorite but I love the sound of it..
07. COMPLETE AND TOTAL PERCUSSIVE DOMINANCE
It feels a little bland..In my opinion. It's a good song, trust me!! I like it!! But it's a little more on the monotone side in comparison to the other songs in the album. Not saying it's a bad thing, FYI... I don't have many words for it!
08. I HAVE FURY! (ft. Funsai)
For the confused ones who do not know of Funsai, that is also a RUMBLERAGGA alias. This cute little red bunny that's evil.
I LOVE THIS SONG ???? It's a nice shift from COMPLETE AND TOTAL PERCUSSIVE DOMINANCE to a more energetic sound !! Maybe it's just that Funsai mashcore tone that makes it more energetic, but I reallyyy love it ^_^ It feels so evil in a way!! It's a nice combination of 2 aliases sounds and I love whenever RUMBLERAGGA and Funsai's themes gets mashed up like this! This is how to do it!
09. SUISEISEKI JUULING BEHIND THE CAFETERIA DUMPSTER (2021 VIP EDITION)
THIS IS MY PROFILE SONG!! This is such a good song and SO CHAOTIC. I get how people couldn't like it because it's so loud and has so much going on, but this is why I like it! It made the Rozen Maiden OP actually sound DECENT????? It also pays a nice homage to the original suiseiseki (which is much more outdated, it's from ULTIMATE INTIMATE, which was in 2019) whilst making it very unique in a way! This is a nice close to an album like this, and I'm really in love with this song ^^
and no, I am not reviewing the GABBAHSMACKED remix. I do not have anything to say about it. Not that it's bad, I just don't count it :')
And that's all, folks!
That's all I really need to infodump about this album. Run this shit everywhere. You can buy it on bandcamp for $6.66, or more if you wanna be generous. It's also on spotify, and there's a full stream of it on youtube. Despite it's age, I enjoy this album very much ^^
