the curse of Kim Dokja: 1 new blog

Hi everyone. I don't think you've missed my profile, but I sure did miss writing here. I've finally decided to begin the new series for orv, which is me rereading the novel.

Does that explain why "the curse"? Because this novel was made to reread, a long story made to be read at least twice in your life to understand its full meaning. "Of Kim Dokja" Because yes, I'm not leaving that guy that way for that long. If I'm a reader as well, I choose to make those characters live the way I want by the way I read. I'm going to use that power to keep the characters I cherished the same way I remember them, happy.

It's delusional and selfish of me, because that period was full of pain but at the same time it was the brightest period of Kim Dokja and I still haven't moved on from that ending.

Thus series will might engage in the topic I also wanted to talk about in "the curse of ■ ■" which is simply me fangirling like Kim dokja about Yoo Joonghyuk. So... two birds I one stone.

Obviously, this blog will contain spoilers of literally anything I the novel!

This entry will be about chapter 1 to 8

So let's begin!

I have so much to say about the start, because the start is sort of the end as well: it's the point when Han Sooyoung finished writing TWASA and tries to reach Kim Dokja before he goes inside the subway. To think every night for more than 10 years (because it wasn’t written in exactly ten years, because if he started it at 18, he shouldn’t have made it read it to his bully in middleschool. It's actually around 14 years worth of work) she's been writing just for the sake of that guy not committing s*icide is crazy.

I already said it once: I realised too late how much she cared about him and I regret it.

So yeah, Han Sooyoung was really an awesome person. If I had to make a parallel to Madoka Magica (which I WILL as soon as that guy comes in), I'd say she's like has that bit of Homura in her, she has that type of selfishness Homura had in Rebellion but she's mostly like Sakura.

Kim Dokja lived in his own world for so long... but I can't deny that story saved him. STILL- WHY DID MAKE WORLD OF ZERO HAPPEN, WHYY. Why did you make him accept that pact... I swear I cried at that scene. Of all things, Yoo Joonghyuk was that desperate to understand the meaning of his existence... and the only mean to reach that was the person that gave you all that happiness and then put you through all that pain. That mean was already in front of him...

I still don't understand why would a man go that far to find the meaning of existence?

The first scenario is the perfect example of the fact that Kim Dokja is an unreliable narrator. The way he describes Kim Nawoon was clearly made with his spite for him. Everything was made to put him into a bad light only to make him feel good about himself the moment he gets him killed. Personally I think it's crazy how Kim Dokja can be such a danger to society: bro found him extremely annoying and he simply killed him.

And I don't want to say that Kim Nawoon didn't have it coming, but he was right about the fact that the world has changed his rules and personally, I find it hard to believe the elders would survive if not helped by others, which is a liability for the people that help them. Kim Nawoon chose an old lady rather than a child, and I think that's should be also be put into consideration. The reason his act is scandalous in the series is mainly, most probably cultural, while in Europe respecting the elders is duty as a good person, I think in Korea is a must do expecially for the younger generations (correct me if I'm wrong). In fact, Dookja does talk about confucianism and how corrupted it became through the years.

Also it's kinda sad that for that same reason, Kim Dokja only putting on a good light his biases, we never had the chance to actually know better Kim Nawoon.

Btw I noticed that in the novel they talk about a net, while in the manhwa Lee Gilyoung holds a cage.

This is all for now, byee!
