Actually, there already have been proposals that would be highly effective in countering these raids that do not breach privacy.
However, deciding to publish an App for a website meant to cater towards a niche audience was a terrible mistake, as the resources are not present.
Best thing for now is to practice common internet sense as in the days of old, refrain from discussing the subject as it turns the entire conversation of the website towards these individuals, and have UBlock Origin add on as it has filters to remove the cool new people section of your homepage, thus lessening the chance to see the raider's effects.
I haven't seen these proposal, but i will be fair and admit that i am still relatively new to this website and i will also admit that i made this blog as a joke and a half (And i will admit once again that this is not a perfect solution, because i am not sure if it would follow the privacy friendly thing i mentioned early and users could easily create another account using a VPN).
I will agree on what you say about "in the days of old" though. That the best way to deal with these kinds of people is to simply ignore them, because that's what they want in the end: attention. But yeah, maybe this post is giving them what they want, but then again i did it as a joke and a half.
