why did everyone in the 2000's seem to have a website??

liek i was looking for some moer blinkies, and i kept stumbling across like teachers' personal sites, and like other stuff like that

was that like a common thing orr???

idk i wasnt really concious during that time, lolz

I think that before google and stuff browsers didn't have a "home page" like when you open google chrome and you're on the google search bar page. So people made their own to customise and include things like all the sites they frequently go to so it's convenient for them. But this is more 90s which might've carried over to the next decade until things like yahoo and google showed up and back then the internet and buying URLS was the hot new trend but I might be wrong
