hyperfixation rant!!!

NOTE: i did this from memory so it might not all be accurate <3

all i can think about is henry the eighth and his wives ;-; (hyperfixation)

anyways i want t talk about them so im going to ;P

Henry VII had two sisters and one brother and was raised predominantly by women until he was like 10 (i think, writing this from memory and my memory SUX). His brother was raised as the heir to the throne but when he was 15 he got sick and died. The pressure fell on henry and he was moved back to windsor castle to live with his father where he was very sheltered. his mom died i think one or two years later which made the grief worse. his dad did not allow him to do anything without guards. when he was 17 his dad died and he was made king, he married katherine of aragon. after a few years and several failed pregnancies he wanted to divorce her which was not easy for the time period but he figured it out nonetheless. He then pursued Anne Boleyn (my absolute favorite, i will make a separate paragraph for her) who gave birth the Elizabeth I. She had two (i think) failed pregnancies, one of which was almost guaranteed to be a boy. Henry was superstitious and believed he had chosen the wrong woman because Anne could not give him a son. He called her treasonous, saying she had committed adultery and incest with her brother (bullshit). She was found guilty and beheaded. Before her execution, Henry started his relationship with Jane Seymour. After her death they were quickly married. People often call her the only wife he actually loved. She gave birth to Edward (the sixth i think), but died during childbirth. Edward died from what was known as "the sweating sickness" at about fifteen however so he did not ever become king. From there he married Anne of Cleeves, but ended up divorcing her. He then married Katherine Howard, who people believed to be about 15 years old at the time. Since she was so young, people thought she was unfaithful. She could not successfully get pregnant with a son either, so Henry had her beheaded for treason like he did with Anne. At that point he was old, and only wanted companionship for the end of his life, and he married Katherine Parr. He died around the age of 51 (i think), and when he died supposedly his body exploded. This was likely due to the ulcers on his leg from a jousting incident and his weight.

NOW ANNE BOLEYN!!!!

Anne Boleyn grew up in England but was brought to France to learn her proper manners. She had two sisters and a brother. When she returned to England she had many possible suitors, all of which she declined in hopes of marrying the king. There were letters exchanged between her and the king, but hers were destroyed after her death. Supposedly though, she would not start a relationship with Henry until he was properly divorced. This did happen and they were married soon after. She supported the idea of Henry's divorce because she followed reformist ideals. During their marriage holy roman empire opposed them, believing their marriage was illegitimate. She had only one child, Elizabeth I, and several miscarriages. Their marriage caused many enemies for Anne, and after her miscarriages king Henry used those enemies as leverage to execute her because he believed she was not right because she could not produce a son. He accused her of adultery and incest with her brother. Because of all those enemies she had, it was easy for her to be found guilty. On May 19, 1536 she was beheaded by a skilled swordsman rather than an executioner as a sign of respect. Henry VII had all images of hers destroyed so very few original interpretations of her exist. the pictures commonly seen of her were commissioned by Queen Elizabeth I. She is known as the queen of a thousand days because she was queen for approximately 1000 days.
