Slam Dunk Festival

During my long period of inactivity I did something new: I went to a Meet Me @ The Altar concert! I'd never been to a concert before but the tickets were really cheap and I love their Model Citizen EP so I went for it. It was amazing! The lead singer Edith's hair glowed under blacklight. I got a t-shirt (that doesn't fit right now, but will after top surgery) and I got to take a pic with the band members!!

Somehow, this made me think I can handle an entire music festival. But listen: another thing I did during my long period of inactivity was discover my two favourite bands, Honey Revenge and Artio! I actually had to miss Honey Revenge's first time in Scotland even though I'd bought tickets because my carer had an emergency, which made me start thinking. And once I started thinking I couldn't stop! 

Then I made things worse: I watched a Honey Revenge interview about how excited they are to go to Slam Dunk Festival, which made me excited. My other favourite band, Artio, are even signed with Slam Dunk, so they're going to be there too! Which is the story of how I spent the money my dad gave me for Christmas on a Slam Dunk Festival ticket and premier inn. I'm really nervous, but I'm also really excited. 

I've already started making kandi!

I actually made two bees for Honey Revenge and ten Honey Revenge kandi singles back in December, since I expected to go see them open for The Used. 

But I've also started making teeth keyrings for Artio! Making bees for Honey Revenge was an easy choice since their logo is a cute lil bee, but I had to think for a while about what to do for Artio. At first I wanted to do a devil emoji, but couldn't find any patterns meant for peyote. Then I thought dragon, since they have a tiktok where the lead singer claims the source of the band's coolness is this book about dragons from the Scholastic Book Fair. Then it hit me - Artio's debut album opens with Baby Teeth and ends with Wisdom Teeth. They even have a shirt with x-rays of the lead singer's wisdom teeth as merch! So I've got three more teeth to make and then a bunch of kandi singles.

I've also been working on a beaded belt which would be super cool to wear to Slam Dunk and I've been meaning to make my kandi belt chain longer. So much to do!
