bowling for music?

Last Saturday I sat in with the cover band Supernova but this was definitely a first for me. I played at a bowling alley.

You read that right.

And the best part? It sounded GREAT!! I am not kidding. Because the ceiling is curved, it's like a bandshell, so the sound bounces back really big. I barely turned my amp up past 4, and it was still really loud.

Which is good!

We did two long sets instead of three shorter sets. I thought my body would fatigue but it held up well. Did songs ranging from John Mellencamp to Queen, and added new songs by Jimmy Eat World, The Cure and Van Halen. I even did "Eruption" and would you know....the crowd were actually cheering WHILE I WAS PLAYING. 

Another first.

The show was definitely a lot of fun and I hope to do more bowling shows :)

I forgot my shoes though.
