"core" aesthetics

I'm tired of seeing these "core" aesthetics. The names are not original; it's just the name of something + core suffix. Really? Can't you name it anything else? Can't think of a good name?

It's so annoying. For example, y2kcore. It's not y2kcore. I would call it Y2K revival or something similar. Like, Neo Y2K.

There's "dark academia", which doesn't involve any core suffix, so why can't other styles have names like this one?

Also, not everything is an 'aesthetic'. And core comes from the french word "coeur" which means heart. Are you actually getting into the heart of a style? No. Some aesthetics barely  scratch the surface.

Give them cool names like "Wacky PoMo" (a.k.a Wacky Post-Modernism) or "Global Village Coffeehouse".

Frogcore and pencilcasecore don't actually mean anything, but it's how these cores are named.

Let's start being more creative.

I believe the "official" name is indeed Neo Y2K

Yeah. I've seen it on Evan Collin's Y2k Aesthetic Institute and on his are.na.

He has other aesthetics archived:
