I think one of the hardest things about transitioning in college is knowing that anything from your past is behind you.
Your hometown friends remember you as the guy you never wanted to be and left behind.
Your parents remember their dear little boy. Not the young woman at their doorsteps.
You're just a memory to everyone you knew, every neighbor, classmate, and teacher.
You're just a memory to them despite still being here. You can't go back.
