personally, i believe that if anyone undermines/supports/accepts domestic abuse, then they should fuck off this platform. i feel really bad for any of his victims that had to go through that. i looked up to that man for 4 YEARS, it just goes to show that salt and sugar look the same and that not everyone on the internet is good.
also, ive seen a LOT of people supporting him. picture this: someone kills someone, but that was "all in the past", do you forgive them? no! why should we forgive him? idgaf if hes your comfort streamer or wtv, if you support him then your almost just as bad as him.
also, his therapy must not be going very well if he describes his abusive actions as "consentual" or "playful" but tbh, that whole apology was horrible, all he did was focus on himself. in my opinion it wasnt even an apology, more of a life update.

I wouldn't consider myself a Wilbur fan (definitely not now lol) but I did know of his existence since the Soothouse days + I loved Lovejoy so finding out about all of this was pretty shocking since I genuinely thought the guy would, at the very least, have the basic human decency to not abuse people and to respect consent. I rarely go on any social media so my first introduction to this whole thing was when a Lovejoy fan account posted Wilbur's apology and MY GOD, IT'S DOGSHIT. Like, even if somehow this entire thing turned out to fake or overplayed (which I'm, like, 95% sure it's not), that man deserves to be called out just for how terrible that apology was, holy shit. Why mention private messages just to say that you won't reveal them?? Don't mention them at all, dude!!! Fucking use your concert money, buy a better therapist, and shut up!!!
Anyway, on the topic of other people's reactions towards him, I'm glad to say that it seems like the big Youtube Lovejoy fan accounts have agreed to stop posting Lovejoy content and will bully you mercilessly if you support abuse. Can't say anything for the other sites because YouTube is pretty much my only "social media" app lmao. Though, one thing that does tick me off about other people's reactions is that there's a lot of talk about people being disappointed in Wilbur and some even be sympathetic towards him but absolutely no mention of Shubble at all? I mean, I get it, Wilbur was an idol to a lot of people, especially to those struggling with mental health issues, and he obviously needs to get help but jeez...I feel like it's not hard to say a simple "fuck off wilbur" or "sorry you had to go through that, shubble" or both! I know people don't feel the same way as me but personally, it doesn't matter if that person was a role model, friend, family member, etc; if they're an abuser, I'm immediately not gonna associate myself with them! I'm making it clear that they did a shitty thing and they deserve the consequences that come with that!
oh and i only mentioned shubble here since I didn't really go too deep in the controversy but if other victims have also come out, the above paragraph also applies to them as well
OMD I AGREE WITH YOU SO MUCH DUDE!!!!!!!! im so glad im not the only one who thinks this, and i think ur absolutely in the right. litterally nobody is trying to support shubble too??? like come on????
