(TW) True Crime

I've been really into True Crime recently and found some interesting stuff about the Jonestown Massacre. To sum it up, it's a religious communist guy called Jim Jones whose the leader of a cult he founded called the Peoples Temple. The cultists were actually tricked by Jim Jones, who claimed he was the second coming of Jesus and performed 'miracles' in front of them. Like making an old wheelchair-bound woman stand up straight again (she was paid to do this by Jim). Everyone believed it and Jim made them move to Guyana with their families and lead a little commuinst village called Jonestown. People worked and in exchange got food to eat. They practiced something called 'The White Night Rehearsal', where Jones made a whole big speech of the world ending and they had to chug this cup of Kool-Aid. Americans heard of this, sent a bunch of reporters, including  congressman Leo Ryan and congress woman Jackie Speier, to report about this new town in Guyana. An old couple slipped a note to one of the reporters, begging him to help them all. A child saw this and immediately alerted this to... basically everyone. Jim felt pretty insecure now, since he forced his cultists to say that they were all happy here, and told the reporters and his people that anyone was free to leave Jonestown as they wished. Later that day, airplanes came to Jonestown and picked everyone up to go back to the US. However, that drastically changed when a bunch of goons came and shot everyone on board, including the reporter and congressmen. Jim Jones decided to call everyone to their towns hall and gave them that same grape-flavored Kool-Aid to drink but it was different this time because now, he recorded his speech. At the end of the speech, he made everyone drink the Kool-Aid, specifically making the children drink it first before their parents. This time, the Kool-Aid had cyanide in it that could kill a grown man in 45 minutes. They labled that recorded speech as the death tape. It's pretty chilling, listening to the full death tape of Jim Jones and his followers. There are images of this incident, though I would not recommend looking them up. Has anyone else heard of this?!
