Happy Leap Day 2024!!!

Yep, that's right everyone. It's Thursday, 2/29/2024, which means it's leap day. This date only comes once every 4 years and the next leap year will be in 2028 (as you may have figured out by now). Last leap day was Saturday, 2/29/2020 and I remember that day as if it was just yesterday.

I was 13 1/2 at the time and I remember staying up until midnight, watching TV in my room with the lights off not being able to find anything good to watch and then deciding to go to bed. I woke up at around 8 am that morning, turned on the news, and saw a news report specifically about leap day babies (those born on 2/29). Then later, my mom and I went out to Hot Topic as well as Target on the way back. I got some cool stuff while I was out including (but not limited to) a 5 pack of My Chemical Romance earrings and a Panic! At The Disco bracelet pack (though the bracelets always slide off of my skinny little wrists without armwarmers and I'm pretty sure I lost a bracelet while I was out one day). I was new to the subculture at the time and I was very excited to finally own some official band merchandise. As a matter of fact, I'm currently wearing 1 pair of earrings from the 5 pack right now in my 2nd holes (out of 5 I have in the exact same spot on both ears).
